研究目的
To compare FEM and MoM monostatic RCS simulation results for quadcopters, hexacopters, and octocopters at X-band, and to validate these simulations against measurements, exploring the use of simplified CAD models for estimating scattering from UAVs and the importance of model complexity for micro-Doppler rotor simulations.
研究成果
Simplified UAV models can capture much of the co-polar RCS detail but underestimate absolute values and perform poorly in cross-polar scenarios. Future work should investigate the effect of illumination angle shifts and use more realistic material properties to improve simulation accuracy.
研究不足
The simulations slightly underestimate the RCS of quadcopters and significantly overestimate for hexacopters. The simplified models do not fully capture the detail in RCS variation, especially in cross-polar values. The PEC assumption and lack of fine detail in models may explain discrepancies.
