研究目的
Investigating the synthesis of metal oxide MxOy in the presence of M-free MOF acting partially as a sacrificial template and as a provider of doping metal atom, specifically focusing on ZnO prepared by a simple hydrothermal method in the presence of Zn-free MOFs like MIL-53(Al) or MIL-125(Ti).
研究成果
The preparation of ZnO nanocrystals in the presence of Zn-free MOFs is a new approach that significantly affects the morphology, structure, and properties of the resulting ZnO. The improved photocatalytic activity is ascribed to the morphology, specific surface area, Ti or Al content, and abundant oxygen defects associated with the presence of the Zn-free MOFs at the synthesis stage. This opens a new route for the preparation of metal oxides using MOFs in a new role.
研究不足
The study focuses on the synthesis and characterization of ZnO using Zn-free MOFs as templates and doping sources, but the exact mechanism of MOF transformation and metal incorporation into ZnO is not fully understood. The photocatalytic activity was tested only on methyl orange degradation under UV irradiation.
