To explore the feasibility of nano-ZnO/bamboo charcoal composites for advanced treatment of dye wastewater by combining adsorption with photocatalytic technology.

Nano-ZnO/bamboo charcoal composite materials with hexagonal (wurtzite-type) nano-ZnO, prepared by precipitation, have better photocatalytic activities than pure ZnO under UV irradiation. The photocatalytic degradation performance of these composites is best after calcination at 500 °C. The degradation of methyl orange on nano-ZnO/bamboo charcoal composites is in line with first-order kinetics, and the composites can be readily recycled.

4：Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Bamboo charcoal was pre-treated, then mixed with (NH4)2CO3 and Zn(NO3)2 solutions, sintered at different temperatures, and characterized.
5：Data Analysis Methods:
XRD, SEM, and EDS were used for characterization; photocatalytic degradation was measured by spectrophotometry.
