研究目的
To examine the temporal trend of current research as well as methodological and geographical distributions of the published articles on end-of-life (EoL) management of solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS), and to compile and synthesise reported drivers, barriers, and enablers to EoL management of PV panels and BESS in the context of the circular economy.
研究成果
The study reveals a growing interest in managing EoL PV panels and BESS, with research concentrated in Europe, Asia, and North America. Experimental and modelling/simulation methods are predominantly used. The synthesis of drivers, barriers, and enablers provides a basis for transitioning to a circular supply chain for solar energy systems. Future research should focus on socio-economic and policy aspects to complement the current technological focus.
研究不足
The study is limited to articles published in English and does not include government and industry reports or other grey literature due to difficulties in systematic collection. The focus is on post-consumption waste, excluding studies on waste generated within the upstream supply chain.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
A systematic quantitative literature review method was employed to assess the current progress of EoL management research on solar PV and BESS. The methodology involved establishing search criteria, conducting database searches, screening and assessing articles for eligibility, and performing content analysis and data synthesis.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Articles were collected from Scopus and Web of Science databases between 2000 and 2018 (by 30 June 2018). The search query used was: "end of life" OR recycl* AND (solar panel) OR photovoltaic OR (battery energy storage).
3:8). The search query used was:
3. List of Experimental Equipment and Materials: Not applicable as the study is a literature review.
4:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
4. Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow: The study followed a grounded theory (GT) approach for data synthesis, involving open coding, axial coding, and selective coding to generate a theory explaining the process, action, or interaction of EoL management of PV panels and BESS.
5:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
5. Data Analysis Methods: The content analysis involved categorizing publications according to research subject, methodology used, and geographical location of the first author's research institution. The synthesis of drivers, barriers, and enablers was conducted using a GT approach.
