研究目的
To explore the development and application of chemical and biological sensors at the microscale, focusing on their advantages in rapid throughput and minimal sample requirements, and their applications in medical monitoring and industrial-scale reactions.
研究成果
Chemical processes and the intensification of (bio)chemical reactions rely on the optimization of dedicated technologies. The development of microsensors for universal parameters such as pH, conductivity, and temperature are considered as milestones in chemical engineering, while the bio-recognition and interaction of molecules within specific biochip or microarray format gain importance for the understanding of biofunctions and their subsequent regulation in case of malfunctioning, eg, during disease.
研究不足
The field of chemical and biochemical detection cannot be approached by a one-fits-all concept. Besides sensors for universal parameters such as temperature and pH, many distinguished sensor working principles and their working range performance are being investigated in the μTAS R&D community.
