Monophasic NiCr2O4 and NiCrFeO4 with cubic spinel structures were successfully synthesized. The introduction of Fe3+ modified both the optical and magnetic properties of NiCr2O4, reducing its catalytic efficiency for Rh-6G dye degradation. The study demonstrates the potential of these materials as multifunctional materials.

Nickel chloride hexahydrate, chromium chloride hexahydrate, and iron(III) nitrate nonahydrate were used as precursors.

4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Xerogels were calcined at 1000°C for 2 h. Characterization was performed using various techniques as listed.

Le Bail refinement of PXRD patterns, Kubelka–Munk function analysis for optical band gap estimation.
