The proposed HRCD algorithm provides a low-complexity solution for massive MU-MIMO downlink transmission in sparse mm-wave channels, outperforming several other hybrid schemes including those based on block diagonalization. It also shows strong performance even with the use of finite-resolution phase shifters, making it a highly desirable solution from a practical perspective.

The performance advantage of the proposed HRCD scheme may become more pronounced as the number of paths (hence the channel rank) increases, rendering it better suited to such scenarios from the performance perspective.
