The synthesized polyimides, BC-SBIDA and BCBr4-SBIDA, exhibit excellent thermal stability, microporosity, and mechanical properties. The introduction of alicyclic moieties reduces charge transfer complexes, leading to colorless and transparent films. BCBr4-SBIDA shows promising performance for air separation, with competitive O2 permeability and selectivity.
