The presented injection module design demonstrates good potential for 1+/n+ operation and related studies. The similarities in the injection magnetic field between the GTS and the SPIRAL1 Charge Breeder and the results of the ion optical simulations give confidence for the design choices. The system's flexibility allows for geometry optimization as operational experience increases.

The ion deceleration and insertion into the ECR plasma is a critical part of the system and the most challenging to model reliably. The operational experience with the system is limited, requiring flexibility for geometry optimization.
