研究目的
To theoretically implement Indium molybdenum oxide (IMO) as a plasmonic layer in SPR fiber optic sensor and demonstrate how changing the oxygen contents during IMO layer deposition could tune the operational wavelength of sensing probe in a wide range from visible to NIR.
研究成果
The research theoretically demonstrates wide wavelength tuning of SPR based fiber optic sensors with IMO thin film as the plasmonic layer, for the first time. It establishes the critical roles of oxygen content during IMO layer deposition in tuning the operational wavelength of sensing probe from visible to NIR wavelength (272 to 1841 nm). The proposed structure used conventional inexpensive optical fibers with layer deposition at room temperature, which is attractive in terms of cost and applications.
研究不足
The study is theoretical and lacks experimental validation. Future work includes performing experiments of the proposed sensing probe by IMO films preparation and deposition on MMF or SMF.
