研究目的
To evaluate the performance of the Siemens Biograph Vision digital PET/CT system according to NEMA NU 2-2012 and NEMA NU 2-2018 standards, and compare it with its predecessor, the Biograph mCT Flow.
研究成果
The Biograph Vision demonstrates superior performance compared to the mCT Flow, with improved spatial resolution, sensitivity, NECR, and TOF resolution. It meets current and future EARL criteria, suggesting potential for dose and scan time reduction in clinical applications.
研究不足
The study is based on a single system evaluation; results may vary with different units. Patient studies are illustrative and not for detailed inter-system comparison. Some measurements rely on manufacturer-provided software and protocols.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The study followed NEMA NU 2-2012 and NEMA NU 2-2018 standards for performance evaluation, including measurements of spatial resolution, sensitivity, count-rate performance, accuracy of attenuation and scatter correction, TOF performance, and image quality.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Used phantoms such as a 22Na point-source, polyethylene cylinder for scatter fraction, and NEMA image quality phantom. Patient studies were also conducted with informed consent.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Siemens Biograph Vision PET/CT system, 22Na point-source (Eckert & Ziegler Isotope Products), 18F-FDG, syringes (Hamilton Company), polyethylene cylinders, aluminum sleeves, and various phantoms.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Acquired data at specific positions in the FOV, performed CT scans for attenuation correction, used iterative reconstruction algorithms (e.g., OP-OSEM), and applied corrections for randoms, scatter, etc.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Analyzed data using NEMA analysis software provided by the manufacturer, calculated FWHM, sensitivity, NECR, scatter fraction, and other metrics as per NEMA standards.
