SRF exhibits three distinct chromatin residence time regimes (short, intermediate, long) that are modulated by cell stimulation, with increased long binding times and fractions upon stimulation, mediated by actin signaling, MAP kinases, and MRTF cofactors. This reveals highly dynamic TF-chromatin interactions.
