研究目的
To present a novel single layer miniaturized frequency selective surface (FSS) with band stop characteristics, polarization independency, and angular stability for compact systems.
研究成果
The proposed FSS exhibits band stop response at 1.39 GHz with 137.5 MHz bandwidth, polarization independency, and angular stability up to 60°, making it suitable for compact systems.
研究不足
Deviation in measurements due to variation in dielectric properties of the FR4 substrate and scattering or edge effects during measurements.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The FSS was designed with convoluted circular unit cells on a single layer FR4 substrate. Simulation was performed using CST-MWS software with floquet ports for analysis.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
A prototype was fabricated with dimensions 24 × 24 cm and 20 × 20 elements.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
FR4 substrate (dielectric constant εr =
4:3, loss tangent δ = 025), horn antennas (Verdant Telemetry, operating range 1 to 12 GHz), portable microwave analyzer (Agilent Technologies). Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The FSS was simulated for TE and TM modes, and transmission characteristics (S21) were plotted. Measurements were conducted using a setup with two horn antennas and the analyzer for various incident angles (0°, 30°, 60°).
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Simulation and measurement results were compared to validate performance, with analysis of bandwidth, center frequency, and angular stability.
