    摘要: This paper presents three-phase AC-stacked photovoltaic (PV) inverter architecture integrated with battery and its output balancing control strategy under asymmetrical irradiance conditions. The main objective of this research is to verify the feasibility of decentralized control scheme in the three-phase AC-stacked PV inverter system and mitigate unbalanced output power caused by asymmetrical irradiance conditions. To keep the benefits of the decentralized control, the proposed output balancing control strategy uses local measurement information captured by individual energy storage inverter members. The proposed system is demonstrated and verified through a control-hardware-in-the-loop test.

  • Decentralized Optimal Control of a Microgrid with Solar PV, BESS and Thermostatically Controlled Loads

    摘要: Constructing microgrids with renewable energy systems could be one feasible solution to increase the penetration of renewable energy. With proper control of the battery energy storage system (BESS) and thermostatically controlled loads (TCLs) in such microgrids, the variable and intermittent energy can be smoothed and utilized without the interference of the main power grid. In this paper, a decentralized control strategy for a microgrid consisting of a distributed generator (DG), a battery energy storage system, a solar photovoltaic (PV) system and thermostatically controlled loads is proposed. The control objective is to maintain the desired temperature in local buildings at a minimum cost. Decentralized control algorithm involving variable structure controller and dynamic programming is used to determine suitable control inputs of the distributed generator and the battery energy storage system. The model predictive control approach is utilized for long-term operation with predicted data on solar power and outdoor temperature updated at each control step.

    摘要: This technical note gives a new solution to the output feedback H2 problem for quadratically invariant communication delay patterns. A characterization of all stabilizing controllers satisfying the delay constraints is given and the decentralized H2 problem is cast as a convex model matching problem. The main result shows that the model matching problem can be reduced to a finite-dimensional quadratic program. A recursive state-space method for computing the optimal controller based on vectorization is given.

    摘要: Due to the mismatch between the residential electrical load and the output power of the rooftop photovoltaic (PV) systems, node voltages in a low voltage distribution network (LVDN) may exceed the allowable upper limit during the daytime and drop far below the lower limit at night. Existing LVDN voltage regulation methods based on reactive power control of the rooftop PV inverter usually regulate all the inverters using the same control strategy with identical control parameters, although PV inverters at different nodes have different voltage sensitivities to active and reactive power flows. In this paper, an optimized decentralized control strategy of residential PV inverters based on voltage sensitivity matrix is proposed, and different control parameters would be determined and applied to each PV inverters at different LVDN nodes. The proposed strategy provides an optimal control framework for the rooftop PV inverters to maintain voltage within the normal range under varying active power generated by the PV systems, and simulation results verify that the total reactive power output of the PV inverters can be effectively reduced.

  • Beyond decentralized wafer/reticle stage control design: A double-Youla approach for enhancing synchronized motion

    摘要: Industrial wafer scanners often consists of multiple subsystems. Traditionally, these systems-of-systems are divided into manageable subproblems at the expense of the overall performance, that is determined by the synchronicity of the motions of the subsystems. The aim of this paper is to enhance overall system performance by posterior coupling of the controlled subsystems. A framework that relates to the Youla parameterization is developed that connects the additional control elements affinely to the overall system performance criterion. The resulting framework parametrizes all stabilizing bidirectional coupling controllers, and enables improved performance. Robust stability is subsequentially addressed through a double-Youla approach. Application to a wafer scanner confirms superior performance of the joint wafer stage and reticle stage performance, while maintaining full system robust stability.
