    摘要: This paper presents an analysis of Proportional Integral (PI) controller based current control strategy and a Proportional Resonant (PR) controller based current control strategy for a three phase single stage grid connected PV system. PR controller has an advantage of tracking sinusoidal reference current without steady state error. It eliminates the number of coordinate transformation and reduces the complexity of control. It also reduces the current harmonics effectively and injects high quality power to the grid. The system is simulated using MATLAB and the results demonstrate that the PR based control strategy exhibits an excellent performance in tracking the reference current and in reducing the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) in the current spectrum compared to the PI based control strategy.

  • New approach for maximizing generation and optimal utilization of available space for solar PV system

    摘要: To accomplish an enormous demand of power with solar energy, a cost effective and optimum system has to be developed which works in synchronisation with the existing grid. The Government in developing countries like India is providing momentous opportunities and marvellous schemes to promote renewable energy sources like solar for generating power. This paper aims to analyse the generation of power from solar photovoltaic (PV) systems economically and efficiently as it is always a challenge for the design engineer to develop an economical and efficient solar PV system. Apart from technical issues, structural aspects also affect the power generation from PV modules. This paper proposes an innovative design of non-movable tracking system that enhances the power generation of PV modules by just providing two grooves in the mounting structure in place of the tracking system. A formula for the optimum space calculation for PV installation is also proposed in this paper. A comparative analysis of total annual energy generated by the hardware setup and the results obtained using software of the rooftop solar PV system has also been analysed for practical consideration. To verify the results, first, the system has been simulated using the PVSYST software considering all practical and existing realistic losses like PV loss due to irradiance and temperature, array soil loss, module quality loss, array mismatch loss, ohmic wiring loss, and inverter loss which formulate a bonafide case of consideration and then hardware implementation of the proposed system. The hardware and software results have been compared to analyse the proposed topologies adopted to address the aforesaid problems.

    摘要: Transformer-less inverter is popular for grid-tied photovoltaic (PV) system due to low cost, smaller size and higher efficiency. However, one of the technical challenges, which need to be handled carefully, is the issue of leakage current. Moreover, an inverter must be capable of controlling the reactive power to a certain extend to maintain the power factor (PF) close to unity. Therefore, many inverter topologies have been proposed. In this paper, a new four diodes and two IGBT switch based H2D4-type highly efficient transformer-less inverter is proposed that can handle the issue of leakage current maintaining low total harmonic distortion (THD) and higher PF where the common mode (CM) voltage is maintained constant. As a result, the leakage current deceases and the conduction loss as well as size of the system is decreased due to minimum number of IGBT switches. Furthermore, two control systems are proposed to control the reactive power with desire PF. The comparison among proposed H2D4 topology and conventional neutral point clamped (NPC) and H6 topology have been analyzed in this paper. To validate the accuracy of the theoretical analysis, the compared topologies are simulated in MATLAB/Simulink software. It is found that the PLL and PI closed loop control based H2D4 inverter topology controls the reactive power maintaining a low current THD with higher efficiency and high PF as compared to the system with only PI control based topology.

    摘要: This paper presents a new control method for grid-connected pulse width modulation (PWM) inverters to reduce the output current harmonic distortion in a wide range of applications, including photovoltaic (PV) inverter. The proposed control method is designed to eliminate harmonics in micro-grid and to correct the system unbalance. The proposed technique is able to increase the inverter output current around 18 times of conventional one. Another advantage of the proposed control method is that it can be easily adopted into the distributed generation (DG) control system without the installation of extra hardware. The proposed control method comprises of the advance synchronous reference frame method (ASRF).
