    摘要: Information is the key in today’s world and secure transmission is a must. The cryptography is about making cipher and keys management. They assume cipher can be detected and must be strong enough to decipher, but what if the cipher/information is not visible? The cipher would not be detected. The steganography makes this enable. This paper discusses how to hide an MP3 file in a digital image such that it becomes difficult to conclude about the existence of the hidden audio data. Here we utilize the k-LSB of pixels in an image to embed audio data bits into a selected pixel. The pixels are so chosen that the distortion in the image would be minimized due to embedding. This requires comparing all the possible permutations of pixel values, which may lead to exponential time complexity. For faster computation Whale optimization algorithm was used to find the most optimal solution.

  • Clinical Outcomes of Micropulsed Transcleral Cyclophotocoagulation in Moderate to Severe Glaucoma

    摘要: Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of a new micropulsed transcleral continuous wave diode laser in a clinical setting of patients diagnosed with open angle glaucoma, ranging from mild glaucoma to severe. Methods: Twenty-six eyes of thirteen patients were treated by a single surgeon at a single private practice center. Results were reviewed retrospectively. Each subject was treated with preset MP3 setting according to recommended treatment guidelines. Results: At baseline, patients were on an average of 3.3 topical glaucoma medications with an average IOP of 25.6 mmHg. At POD1 IOP was reduced by 20%, by 34% at POD7, 8% at POD28 and decreased 30% from baseline at the final postop visit 6-12 months after the procedure. Average medication use decreased from 3.3 to 1.8 from baseline to final post op visit. There were no serious adverse events. Conclusion: Micropulsed transcleral diode laser is a safe and effective alternative for glaucoma therapy for patients with open angle glaucoma. Patients can expect significant IOP lowering along with reduction in number of topical glaucoma medications required for IOP control.

  • Clinical Correlation between Retinal Sensitivity and Foveal Thickness in Retinitis Pigmentosa Patients

    摘要: Purpose: To investigate the relationship between retinal structure and retinal sensitivity comparing data obtained using spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) and microperimetry in retinitis pigmentosa (RP) and healthy patients. Methods: A total of 49 patients (98 eyes) with RP were divided into 4 groups according to the OCT findings: group A, patients with no macular changes; group B, patients with cystoid macular edema (CME); group C, patients with vitreomacular traction (VMT); group D, patients with retinal thinning. As a control group, we enrolled 27 healthy subjects. All subjects underwent a complete ophthalmologic examination, including SD-OCT and microperimetry. For the statistical analysis, Pearson correlation test and linear regression analysis were used. A p value <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: We did not find any significant difference in best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), foveal thickness, or retinal sensitivity between group A and the healthy subjects (p>0.05). In group B, linear regression of logMAR versus foveal thickness and retinal sensitivity versus foveal thickness gave r values of 0.931 and 0.786, respectively. In group C, r values were 0.786 and 0.842, respectively, while in group D they were 0.816 and 0.795. Conclusions: This article shows the first application of the new microperimeter MP3 in patients with RP, which has proven to be very sensitive in detecting functional abnormalities in all the patients. Future studies should investigate the relationships among photoreceptor cell loss, retinal sensitivity, and fixation in patients with RP.
