摘要: In this paper, we propose a novel ARROW VCSEL structure with an antiresonant oxide island placed inside the resonant cavity with the use of planar oxidation technique. The oxidized island does not only improve single-mode emission, which is one of the most desired effects in vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs), but also has a strong impact on modal loss associated with each lateral mode and affects the shape of their profiles. In this work, we investigate the physical basis of this impact and show how the dimensions of oxidized island determine optical properties of the ARROW VCSEL, leading to the strongest modal discrimination.

Channel modeling and analysis of OWC-massive MIMO systems
摘要: In this paper, we study the difference between the uplink and downlink channels of short-range slant free-space optical wireless between Ground - alpine base stations using massive MIMO linear arrays at both ends. The uplink and downlink atmospheric loss, scintillation, beam spreading and pointing error model of linear array slant range are constructed. The uplink and downlink atmospheric loss, spatial coherence length, receiver beamwidth, pointing error variance, relative mean square error (RMSE) and bit error rate (BER) are compared and analyzed under different distances of different wavelengths of light waves. After simulation analysis, it is concluded that the uplink and downlink atmospheric losses are the same, the uplink receiver beamwidth is larger than the downlink, and the downlink coherence length and the pointing error variance are larger than the uplink, and both monotonously change with the wavelength of the light wave and the propagation distance.

摘要: The paper presents a comprehensive methodology for modeling the electrical, optical, and thermal domains of high-power LEDs, focusing on the XPE2 type from Cree. It introduces optimization algorithms (OPT1 and OPT2) to extract parameters such as series resistance (RS), ideality factor (m), and saturation current (I0) from forward voltage (VF) measurements. A quadratic model for radiant voltage (Vrad) is developed to describe the optical output, and thermal modeling is addressed through structure functions derived from transient thermal measurements. The approach enables accurate prediction of LED performance across varying currents and temperatures, with applications in thermal management and design optimization.

摘要: This paper proposes an effective and practical method for self-calibration of traffic surveillance cameras. Based on analyzing multiple moving vehicles across multiple frames, the Canny edge detector and Hough transform are first adopted to obtain orthogonal horizontal vanishing points pairs, from which corresponding vertical vanishing points are derived. Next, mean shift clustering and Laplace linear regression are employed to deal with noise and outliers during estimation of vanishing points. To overcome the unreliable estimation issues of orthogonal vanishing points pairs, we further utilize the projective line segments obtained from 3-D vehicle model to create more reliable pairs and iteratively improve the calibration results. Finally, the estimation of distribution algorithm (EDA) is also applied to relax the assumptions made on camera parameters and the moving trajectories of vehicles during the iterations. Experimental results on different datasets prove the feasibility of our proposed scheme.

摘要: This paper introduces a new and challenging hyperspectral dataset to the remote sensing community called the 'RIT2017 Data Set' which can be used for the assessment of target detection algorithms. This dataset encompasses 90 targets in a background of up to 8 million pixels (or less if sub-setting). The same dataset can also be used for atmospheric compensation studies for it has identical sets of large panels in both the sun and full shadow. This paper briefly introduces the data collection campaign, the target objects, and addresses the radiometric fidelity of the imaging spectrometer data, which showed very good results. Lastly, the data is atmospherically compensated using an in-scene technique, which also showed fairly good results.

摘要: As an important component of Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) system for transmitting energy, the coupler, composed of coils and shielding, is worth studying parameters effect on the system performance. When the WPT system is applied to trams, the primary coupler is installed between two rails, and the secondary coupler is installed at the bottom of the carriages. The magnetic field produced by the coupler has an effect on carriages and rails, which need to be analyzed. In this paper, the influences of coupler parameters on system performance are analyzed. The mathematical model of coupler is found. The measure to improve the metal influences of the vehicle body is put forward, and the correctness of the analysis is verified through preliminary experiments.

SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS OF LIGHT INTERCEPTION TO GEOMETRICAL TRAITS OF APPLE TREES: AN IN SILICO STUDY BASED ON MAPPLET MODEL
摘要: The efficiency of light interception is a driving factor for plant transpiration and photosynthesis, and contributes greatly to plant growth. For a fruit tree, the efficiency of light interception is also a key factor to improve yield quality. Such efficiency is highly dependent on the tree geometrical and topological organisation which may vary between genotypes, or as a result of agronomic practices such as pruning. The purpose of this study was to use a functional-structural plant model, in order to find out the major geometrical traits that influence the efficiency of light interception in apple trees. MAppleT, an architectural model of apple tree, and VPlants, a software library that includes functionalities to simulate light environment, provided the basis for this work. The STAR, namely the silhouette to total area ratio of leaves, was used to evaluate the light interception efficiency. The general methodology contained three steps: (1) manipulation of a set of geometrical parameters in MAppleT, such as those related to internode elongation, leaf area expansion, and branching angle; (2) integration of the resulting tree architecture within the simulated light environment for calculation of STAR values at the whole tree scale; (3) analysis of the influence of the variation of each geometrical trait on the variance of STAR outputs. As expected, leaf area manipulation had the highest impact on STAR values. Interactions between input parameters were also found, and are illustrated in the case of leaf area versus internode length. This suggests that optimal combination(s) of the corresponding traits could be found, setting a target for genetic improvement, as well as physiological studies on real apple trees.

Dynamic Measurement Error Modeling and Analysis in a Photoelectric Scanning Measurement Network
摘要: A photoelectric scanning measurement network is a kind of distributed measurement system based on the principle of angle intersection, in which transmitters and photoelectric receivers are the main parts. The scanning lasers in transmitters emit signals and they are obtained by receivers at the measured points. Then the coordinate of the receiver can be calculated by the optimization algorithm. Its outstanding static measurement performance and network scalability capacity give it great potential in large-scale metrology. However, when it comes to moving targets, the angle intersection failure will produce a dynamic error, which limits its further application. Nowadays the research on error modeling and compensation is also insufficient though it has been the crucial concern. In this paper, we analyzed error causes and constructed a dynamic error model. Dynamic error characteristics and the law of propagation were discussed. The measurement uncertainty at different movement speeds was quantized through simulation experiments. To verify the error model, experiments were designed and the dynamic error was evaluated in practice. It matched well with simulations. The model was tested to be reasonable, and provided theoretical support for error compensation.

Activated carbon/metal-organic framework nanocomposite: Preparation and photocatalytic dye degradation mathematical modeling from wastewater by least squares support vector machine
摘要: Herein, Kiwi peel activated carbon (AC), Materials Institute Lavoisier (MIL-88B (Fe), and AC/MIL-88B (Fe) composite were synthesized and used as catalysts to degrade Reactive Red 198. The material properties were analyzed by the FTIR, BET-BJH, XRD, FESEM, EDX, TGA, and UV–Vis/DRS. The BET surface area of AC, MIL-88B (Fe) and AC/MIL-88B (Fe) was 1113.3, 150.7, and 199.4 m2/g, respectively. The band gap values (Eg) estimated by Tauc plot method, were obtained 5.06, 4.19 and 3.79 eV for AC, MIL-88B (Fe) and AC/MIL-88B (Fe), respectively. The results indicated that the AC/MIL-88B (Fe) composite had higher photocatalytic activity (99%) than that of pure AC (79%) and MIL-88B (Fe) catalysts (87%). The decolorization kinetic was matched well with the second-order model. Moreover, the data were modeled using least squares support vector machine which optimized with Cuckoo optimization algorithm. The optimal parameters were found 0.837 and 3.49e+02 based on σ2 and γ values, respectively. The mean square error (MSE) and correlation coefficient (R2) values were obtained 3.97 and 0.948. Therefore, the attained data, materials characterization and prediction of modeling validate the composite form of MIL-88B(Fe) with new AC, had better photocatalytic activity in comparison with the individual form.

A review on M?+?N theory and its strategies to improve the accuracy of spectrochemical composition analysis of complex liquids
摘要: High-precision spectral analysis for complex liquid components has received much attention in recent years. However, the lack of systematic strategies of measurement and modeling notably appears when multiple internal and external factors vary—e.g., the sample parameters, instruments, and external environment. Many methods have been developed to eliminate these effects. According to the characteristics of error sources and its propagation rules, “M + N” theory integrates and classifies the internal and external factors that affect the analysis of complex liquid components into M factors and N factors systematically. “M” and “N” refers to the M components in a liquid and N interference factors, respectively, and “+” means that the spectral is a response to the interaction of M and N. In this review, “M + N” theory sums up five measurement and modeling strategies used to reduce the effect of various factors on spectral quantitative analysis of complex liquids. Finally, this review summarized the strategies used to improve the accuracy of quantitative analysis of complex liquids and discussed future research directions.
