Handheld pocket-size Fourier transform profilometry using projector-enabled smartphone
摘要: Surface Fourier transform profilometry (FTP) is a technique used for reconstructing three-dimensional (3-D) surface topography using light. It has been widely used in machine vision for biomedical and biometric automations, providing solutions beyond conventional 2-D imaging. This paper proposes an implementation of the handheld pocket-size FTP for 3-D surface profile imaging using a projector-enabled Samsung Galaxy Beam smartphone. In the implementation, a crossed-optical-axes geometry of the FTP is formed by using a mirror positioned over the phone’s projector via an adjustable tilt mounting bracket. Experimental proof-of-concept of the proposed profilometry is done by implementing conventional and non-phase shifting FTPs with different diffuse test objects. The experimental results obtained by using the non-phase shifting technique are in good agreement with those of the direct contact measurement. Besides having superiority of compactness, the proposed profilometry paves the way for the development of real-time 3-D profiling and printing through internet or Bluetooth interconnection.

A Local measurement based protection technique for distribution system with photovoltaic plants
摘要: Inverter interfaced distributed generation units contribute limited fault current and thereby the current magnitude-based protection schemes find limitation for such situations. Change in penetration level of renewable energy sources with time makes available protection schemes more challenging. The distinction between load and fault current is an issue and with high resistance fault, level of fault current and load current becomes comparable. In this paper, local measurement-based protection technique is proposed that uses current and voltage signals to derive accurate protection decision for a distribution system in the presence of distributed generation units. The method uses real and reactive power calculated at the relay point for the decision. The performance of the algorithm is tested for a 33 bus distribution system simulated using DIgSILENT PowerFactory. Considering such units, the method is tested for both islanded and grid-connected modes, the varying level of distributed generation penetration and for different fault resistances. The results demonstrate the strength of the proposed method over available techniques. The proposed method is also validated using hardware-in-loop testing using Arduino NANO microcontroller and OPAL-RT simulator in real-time.

摘要: This paper investigates a Fuzzy Hysteresis Band Current Control technique (Fuzzy-HBCC) for a Photovoltaic active power ?lter connected at PCC to the AC grid and a non-linear load. This connection offers good bene?ts of producing PV power as well as ensuring the power quality enhancement. In order to demonstrate the ef?ciency of the proposed system command using Fuzzy-HBCC, Fuzzy Vdc controller and Fuzzy-MPPT controller; several simulation cases have been carried out under an online solar variation, and a variable/?xed ignition angle of the nonlinear load. The proposed Fuzzy band current control technique (Fuzzy-HBCC) is developed and compared by simulation, in a Matlab/Simulink environment, with an adaptive Hysteresis controller (adaptive-HBCC) and a ?xed Hysteresis controller (?xed-HBCC) which require mathematical model determination. The results show the robustness of the proposed Photovotaic active power ?lter system with a better dynamic response and signi?cant reduction in Total harmonic distortion levels even under a sudden variation of the nonlinear load and of solar irradiance.

Broad-band measurements of dielectric permittivity in coaxial line using partially filled circular waveguide
摘要: The full-wave analysis was applied for a coaxial line (i.e., transmission line) that has a “short-circuited” discontinuity. The discontinuity has a radius less than or equal to the inner radius of the coaxial line. The “sample region” can be considered as a partially filled circular waveguide. Such a structure is very practical and is of particular interest for the dielectric spectroscopy applications. It takes into account the inhomogeneous field distribution, which is the limiting factor for the determination of high dielectric permittivity values at microwave frequencies. The direct problem was solved by using the mode-matching technique, and the relationship between the complex reflection coefficient and the dielectric permittivity of the cylindrical sample was obtained. By solving the inverse problem, it is possible to obtain the complex dielectric permittivity from the experimental values of the scattering matrix. The results were verified by the finite element modeling of the system and applied for particular materials. The correspondence between these approaches is excellent. This method is very suitable for the determination of permittivity, which exceeds several thousands (it is applicable for any type of material). It extends the frequency range where the permittivity can be determined reliably. There is no necessity to prepare samples with different geometries (i.e., surface area and thickness).

摘要: We experimentally demonstrate ultrahigh range resolution based on photonically generated linear frequency modulated (LFM) terahertz (THz) pulses. By synthesizing dual-band pulses in 315-360 GHz, a THz LFM signal with 40 GHz bandwidth and a time-bandwidth product (TBWP) of 336 is achieved, which successfully enables a range resolution as high as 3.9 mm over more than 4 m in multi-target ranging.

Taguchi Grey Relationalapproach Foroptimizing Process Parameters of Laser Peeningontitanium Alloy to Induce Enhanced Compressive Stress Based on Finite Element Simulation
摘要: Laser Shock Peening (LSP) turned out the most efficient surface engineering process for advanced materials to induce beneficial deep compressive residual stress which helps in improving mechanical, fatigue properties and surface damage resistance. But, analyzing the non-uniform distribution of residual stresses in the treated sample with XRD is much time taking and costly process. This problem can be resolved with LSP finite element numerical simulation model which is feasible with the realistic experimental process. The FE model allows the user to control the laser parameters in order to achieve the optimal level of all controllable parameters. The present study is intended to analyze and optimize the influence of laser processing parameters assists in inducing the residual compressive stress with minimal surface deformation.A Ti6Al4V material model with Johnson-Cook’s visco-elastic-plastic material behaviour law is prepared for LSP simulation. And Gaussian pressure profile is utilized for uniform loading of the targeted zone for the proposed model. Taguchi Grey Relational Analysis (TGRA) with L27 orthogonal array is applied to LSP simulation, and the results were analyzed with consideration of multiple response measures. It is noted that surface deformation is increased with the rise in a number of laser shots and pressure pulse duration. Maximum compressive residual stresses are falling for higher levels of laser spot diameter, Laser spot overlap and Laser Power density. The correlation is observed between FE simulation and published results. The optimal set of process parameters are obtained for improving the LSP on Ti alloys.

Raman high-pressure study of butane isomers up to 40 GPa
摘要: Raman spectroscopy studies on n and i-butane were performed at pressures of up to 40 GPa at ambient temperatures using the DAC technique. Normal butane undergoes two phase transitions at 1.9(5) GPa and 2.9(5) GPa and isobutane at 2.7(5) GPa and 3.5(5) GPa. These phase transitions were identi?ed based on observations of the splitting Raman modes and the appearance or disappearance of particular Raman peaks. Our results demonstrate the complex, high-pressure behavior of butane isomers.

Slit beam shaping technique for femtosecond laser inscription of enhanced plane-by-plane FBGs
摘要: In this work, the development of plane-by-plane (Pl-b-Pl) fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) by using a single pulse is reported. A slit oriented along the longitudinal axis of the fiber is employed for this. The purpose is to shape the beam so that the focal volume is spatially wider in the transverse direction of the fiber. In this way, it is possible to make 2-D modifications of the refractive index whose width and height depends on the slit width and the pulse energy, respectively. Through an analytical mathematical modelling, the relationship between the diameter of the Gaussian laser beam (Dx) and the slit width (s = Dy) is determined in order to obtain a circular cross-section. In the experimental results carried out, it can be observed that Dx/Dy=3 ratio cause positive and uniform refractive index changes, compared to the negative and inhomogeneous refractive index changes corresponding to point-by-point (PbP) FBGs. Likewise, Pl-b-Pl FBGs, presenting a broader modification of the core cross-section, show significantly lower losses in transmission (0.3 dB), as well as better reflectivity and FWHM. It is observed that these three parameters (losses, reflectivity and FWHM) have a monotonous tendency according to the slit width. Polarization-dependence is also evaluated.

Phase Change Behavior of Sn <sub/>20</sub> Sb <sub/>80</sub> /Si?Nano-Composite Multilayer?Thin?Films
摘要: Nano-composite multilayer Sn20Sb80/Si thin films were studied by thermal, electrical and optical methods. Compared with Sn20Sb80, Sn20Sb80/Si film was proved to be a more promising candidate for phase change memory device applications because of its higher crystallization temperature (246?C) and larger crystallization activation energy (2.6 eV). The bandgap was broadened with the increase of Si layer thickness. The crystallization of Sn20Sb80 was restrained after the adding of more Si film layers confirmed by X-ray diffraction patterns. A smoother surface was obtained with the root-mean-square surface roughness of 0.753 nm for [Sn20Sb80(3nm)/Si(7nm)]5 thin film. The measurement using the picosecond laser technique showed that [Sn20Sb80(3nm)/Si(7nm)]5 thin film could achieve the crystalline-to-amorphous phase transform within 2.8 ns irradiated by the laser pulse.

Influence of boron doping amount on properties of ZnO:B films grown by LPCVD technique and its correlation to a-Si:H/??c-Si:H tandem solar cells
摘要: Boron-doped ZnO:B (BZO) films with various doping levels have been prepared on large-area substrates by low pressured chemical vapor deposition technique. The influence of doping amount on electrical and optical properties of BZO films has been investigated. It is found that ZnO phase synthesis is hardly affected when the doping gas flow varies from 25 to 100 sccm, but the preferential orientation of grain growth is influenced progressively. It is interesting that there should be a threshold value of doping gas flow of 75 sccm that will cause an abrupt reduction in grain size of BZO and therefore dramatically weakens the light-scattering capacity of the film. It is also noted that the boron atoms doped in BZO films are partly electrically active, and moreover, the heavier doping level, the more inactive B atoms, which not only reduces carrier mobility, but also boosts a stronger light absorption due to enhanced impurity scattering. When the doping gas flow is 75 sccm, the BZO film can achieve a proper comprehensive property with a Rsq of 15.2 Ω/□, an average haze of 21.3% and an average TT of 80.2%. Using this film as the front electrode of a-Si:H/μc-Si:H solar cell, the optimum performance of the solar cell with a Jsc of 12.68 mA/cm2, a Voc of 1.385 mV, and an initial efficiency (η) of 11.83% was obtained.
