摘要: Due to the minimum antenna area constraint, conventional single-satellite SAR cannot obtain the image with wide swaths as well as high-resolution. This problem can be solved by using single-platform multi-phase center SAR or constellation SAR, which divides the large antenna into small antennas. Compared with single-platform multi-phase center SAR, there are several advantages but also challenges for constellation SAR. In this paper, point-target imaging simulations are performed for linear array constellation SAR with long baseline. And the effect of the long baseline on imaging is discussed. And then the methods to overcome the effect and to reconstruct the unambiguity signal is given.

摘要: A wideband phased array antenna consisted of all-metal Vivaldi is designed in this paper. It is a line array with 8 Vivaldi elements, at the ends of the array there are two additional elements added as the virtual elements to constitute the array environment. The antenna is comprised of the slot line structure and SMA connector, so that it is convenient to process, the size of the array is 150mm × 35mm. The simulated and measured results show that the VSWR (voltage standing wave ratio) of the array antenna in the 6 ~ 12 GHz band is less than 2.5, and the phase scanning of 45-degree angle can be realized in this band.

摘要: Solar array simulator (SAS) is a special DC power supply that regulates the output voltage or current to emulate characteristics of photovoltaic (PV) panels. Especially, the control of SAS is a challenging task due to the nonlinearity in the output curve, which is dependent on irradiance as well as temperature and is determined by panel materials. Conventionally, both current-mode control and voltage-mode control should be alternated by partitioning the operating curve into multiple sections, which is not only for the measurement noise problem with the feedback sensing but also for the control stability issue near the maximum power point. However, the occurrence of transition among different controllers may deteriorate the overall performance. To eliminate the mode transitions, a novel single controller scheme has been introduced in this paper, where the operating point projection technique enables simple, smooth and numerically stable control. Theoretical consideration on the loop stability issue is discussed and the performance is verified experimentally for the emulation of a PV panel data in view of stability and response speed.

摘要: Random amplitude and phase errors at the elements of a phased array antenna cause elevated sidelobe levels. Formulas for predicting the sidelobe levels based on the error statistics are well known. These same random errors also cause an error in the axial ratio of a circular polarized array. This paper presents some new expressions for the change in axial ratio as a function of the random errors.

An Orbital Angular Momentum-Based Array for In-Band Full-Duplex Communications
摘要: A uniform circular array (UCA) with dual orbital angular momentum (OAM) modes is proposed for in-band full-duplex applications. The proposed scheme includes two concentric ring subarrays for transmitting and receiving, respectively, where all elements are operated under the same linear polarization. To suppress the self-interference resulting from the mutual coupling, an OAM mode-selection method related to the proposed configuration is discussed. Results indicate that good isolation performance between the transmitter and receiver can be achieved by using the proposed scheme. To validate the performance, a demonstrator with OAM modes of -1 and -2 at Ku-band is developed, fabricated, and measured. Measurements show a relative bandwidth of 21.3% from 13.5 to 16.7 GHz, referring to a 40-dB suppression level, is achieved and the desired radiations are found.

mmWave CMOS Power Amplifiers for 5G Cellular Communication
摘要: This article covers the basics of millimeter-wave PA design in CMOS technology for integrated phased arrays, targeting the upcoming 5G new radio (NR) cellular communication standard. Key PA figures of merit, as well as application of beam-forming phased arrays to combine power over-the-air, are briefly reviewed. Then, starting from practical handset form factor constraints and system-level drivers, CMOS-specific technological and design-related challenges are conceptually illustrated using a simple single-transistor PA. A survey of the state-of-the-art is presented to give examples of the challenges and illustrate the PA techniques used to tackle them in linear 28-GHz CMOS PAs for 5G NR.

摘要: A method to reconstruct the shape of a large planar structure in space is introduced and demonstrated through a lab-scale experiment. Lightweight sun sensors are distributed on the structure to measure local angles relative to the sun. The methodology to integrate the measured angles into the shape of the structure, based on a decomposition of the shape into basis functions is introduced. This methodology has been implemented on a lab-scale experiment. The design of the sensors is based on a 4 pixel pinhole camera. The calibration method for these sensors is presented as well as the techniques to integrate and communicate with them. A 1.2 m by 20 cm structure was designed and populated with sensors to show the performance of an integrated system. Preliminary results show an accuracy of 1 mm RMS on the shape reconstruction of this structure.

摘要: This paper applies deep neural network (DNN) to source localization in a shallow water environment using underwater horizontal circular array. The proposed method can discriminate source locations in a three-dimension space. The proposed method adopts a two-stage scheme, incorporating feature extraction and DNN analysis. In feature extraction step, the eigenvectors corresponding to the modal signal space, which are shown to be able to represent the propagating modes of the sound source, are extracted as the input feature of DNN. The eigenvectors are obtained by applying eigenvalue decomposition (EVD) of the covariance matrix of the received multi-channel signal. In DNN analysis step, time delay neural network (TDNN) is used to construct the mapping relationship between the eigenvectors and the source locations, because it is capable of making use of sequential information of the source signal. The output of the network is the source location estimates. Several experiments are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

摘要: It is proposed an automatically steering optical beam-forming network (OBFN), which is consisted of an optical fiber loop structure. The loop structure is composed by an optical switch, an optical fiber splitter, and an optical true time delay lines based on dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM). The channel number of the DWDM is matched with the number of the phased array antennas (PAA). The true time delay difference between two adjacent channels is set as a basic step. And the optical wave modulated by radio frequency (RF) signal can run into the loop and suffer increased delay with increased circles. Thus the PAA is steered automatically without additional controlling and programming. The performance of this design is analyzed with its maximal circle numbers and the splitting ratio of the optical splitter in theory. The concept-proof experiments with 8 optical channels for DWDM are carried out and the simulation of the PAA radiation pattern is given.

摘要: Multifunction wideband phased array radar (MWPAR) is an integrated ground based radar which enables multi-function capabilities to meet the forthcoming surveillance and reconnaissance tasks of air targets. The main functions of the MWPAR system include moving target detection and tracing, high resolution imaging and EW. The variety of functions can be fulfilled by the use of a share wideband, multi-beam AESA aperture and a common multi-channel high-speed data acquisition and signal processing system. The real-time ISAR Imaging of maneuvering targets in MWPAR is discussed in this thesis, an advanced signal processing platform and high speed data transmission system based on VPX bus is used to meet the real-time requirement and multifunction scheduling, an improved velocity compensation algorithm of maneuvering targets is adopted to reduce the computational complexity. The simulation results are used to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed methods.
