Surface Modification of Fluoropolymer Using Open-Air Plasma Treatment at Atmospheric Pressure with Ar, Ar+O<sub>2</sub>, and Ar+H<sub>2</sub> for Application in HighAdhesion Metal Wiring Patterns
摘要: We performed open-air plasma treatment of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) at atmospheric pressure to increase the adhesion strength between PTFE and an Ag metal film formed from Ag ink. Coloration of the PTFE surface occurred during 600 s treatment with Ar plasma. The Ag/PTFE adhesion strength was 0.06 N/mm. To resolve the problem of coloration and to improve the adhesion strength, O2 or H2 gas was added. During treatment with Ar + O2 plasma with O2 content of 0.33% for 600 s, no coloration occurred but the adhesion strength decreased to zero. During treatment with Ar + H2 plasma for 600 s, coloration did not occur. Moreover, the adhesion strength increased to 0.25-0.55 N/mm. These results showed that H2 addition was effective for preventing coloration and improving adhesion strength during long-period plasma treatment. Furthermore, the uniformity of surface treatment with Ar + H2 plasma was higher than that for Ar plasma.

The effect of growth condition on graphene growth via Cu-assisted plasma reduction and restoration of graphene oxide
摘要: Graphene, a monolayer sheet of graphite, shows plenty of attractive properties and has been expected to replace conventional materials in various fields. For the industrial application of graphene, a high throughput synthesis method on arbitrary substrates is strongly required. Chemical exfoliation via graphene oxide (GO) is thought to be a suitable method for the high throughput synthesis. However, the crystallinity of reduced GO is unacceptably low. Although we found that the plasma treatment with Cu catalyst yields graphene with high crystallinity from GO on a dielectric substrate, the effect of the growth parameter has been unclear. Here, we investigated the effect of the gas ratio of CH4 and H2 in this process on the crystallinity of graphene. By optimizing the gas ratio, we succeeded in reducing and restoring GO to the extent that its mobility increased to 9.0 × 102 cm2 V?1 s?1.

Determination of Ondansetron by Spectrofluorimetry: Application to Forced Degradation Study, Pharmaceuticals and Human Plasma
摘要: The current manuscript describes a validated, responsive and rapid spectrofluorimetric method for quantifying ondansetron (OND) in authentic form, spiked human plasma and dosage forms. This is the first reported fluorescence study of Ondansetron in Triton X 100 system. Various variables affecting fluorescence response were studied precisely and optimised. The described method involved the fluorescence measurement in Triton X 100 system at λem/λex 354/317 nm. The calibration plot attained linearity over concentration range of 0.2 – 2 μg/mL. The developed method has been extensively applied to degradation studies of OND as per International Conference on Harmonisation (ICH) guidelines by exposing to oxidative, thermal, photo, acidic and alkaline conditions and also the degradation pathway has been proposed.

Effect of Faraday mirror imperfections in a fiber optic current sensor dedicated to ITER
摘要: Plasma current measurements in ITER are safety-related and must therefore satisfy a very demanding specification. In this paper, the use of the Fiber Optics Current Sensor (FOCS) operating in the reflection mode with a Faraday mirror to perform plasma current measurements is analyzed. Based on the Jones matrix formalism, we performed numerical simulations to investigate the impact of the Faraday mirror detuning on the measurement accuracy. We show that the use of standard commercial components does not allow to satisfy the ITER requirements for the whole plasma current range. A simple solution to the problem is proposed, which consists in taking into account a mirror calibration in the current estimator. We show that the achievable mirror calibration accuracy is sufficient to fulfill the ITER requirements.

Characterization of perovskite LaFeO3 synthesized by microwave plasma method for photocatalytic applications
摘要: Perovskite LaFeO3 nanoparticles were successfully synthesized by microwave plasma method combined with high temperature calcination at 700–1000 °C. The influences of calcination temperature on morphology, crystalline structure, purity and the atomic compositions of samples were studied. The photocatalytic performance of LaFeO3 was evaluated though the photodegradation of Rhodamine B (RhB) under visible light. In this research, the orthorhombic LaFeO3 nanoparticles showed band gaps in the range of 2.15–2.30 eV. The particle size increased with increasing in the calcination temperature, leading to the decreasing in the surface area. The LaFeO3 sample calcined at 900 °C showed the highest photodegradation of 77.8% and the apparent rate constant of 0.0077 min?1 within 180 min because of the narrower of band gap and the higher crystalline degree and oxygen adsorption.

Label-free bacteria quantification in blood plasma by a bioprinted microarray based interferometric point-of-care device
摘要: Existing clinical methods for bacteria detection lack in speed, sensitivity and importantly in Point-of-Care (PoC) applicability. Thus, finding ways to push the sensitivity of clinical PoC biosensing technologies is crucial. Aiming that, we here report a portable PoC device based on Lens-free Interferometric Microscopy (LIM). The device employs high performance nanoplasmonics and custom bioprinted microarrays and is capable of direct label-free bacteria (E. coli) quantification. With only one-step sample handling we offer a sample?to?data turnaround time of 40 minutes. Our technology features detection sensitivity of a single bacterial cell both in buffer and diluted blood plasma and is intrinsically limited by the number of cells present in the detection volume. When employed in a hospital setting, the device has enabled accurate categorization of sepsis patients (infectious SIRS) from control groups (healthy individuals and non-infectious SIRS patients) without false positives/negatives. User-friendly on-site bacterial clinical diagnosis can thus become a reality.

Effects of a cathode output aperture on the hollow cathode glow discharge
摘要: Glow discharge with a cylindrical hollow cathode mounted on a process vacuum chamber has been studied in a wide range of gas pressures from 0.01 to 10 Pa. The chamber serves as the discharge anode. A diaphragm is fastened on the cathode end to protect the discharge plasma inside the chamber from contamination with the sputtered cathode material. The discharge characteristics depend on area So of the diaphragm ori?ce. A double layer appears at the ori?ce when So < S* ≈ (2 m/M)1/2S, where m is the electron mass, M is the ion mass, and S is the cathode surface area. Electrons accelerated in the double layer effectively ionize the gas and can produce, inside the chamber, a plasma with the same density as inside the cathode. At the gas pressure less than ~0.3 Pa, the low-voltage double layer can be replaced with a high-voltage accelerating gap between the plasma inside the cathode and the plasma produced inside the chamber by a beam-plasma discharge.

Experimental comparison of spherically bent HAPG and Ge crystals
摘要: The Orion high-resolution X-ray (OHREX) imaging spherically bent crystal spectrometer, operated with both image plates and CCD cameras, provides time-averaged plasma diagnostics through high-resolution spectroscopy with good signal-to-noise at the Orion laser facility. In order to provide time-resolved spectra, the OHREX will be out?tted with a streak camera, and in this case, even higher signal to noise will be desired. Using the OHREX’s sister instrument, the EBIT High-resolution X-ray (EBHiX) spectrometer, at the LLNL electron beam ion trap EBIT-I, we therefore compare the ef?ciency of a high-quality Ge (111) crystal (2d = 6.532 ?) with that of a higher integrated re?ectivity, but lower-resolution highly annealed pyrolytic graphite (HAPG) crystal (2d = 6.708 ?) in the energy range 2408–2452 eV. We ?nd that the HAPG provides overall more signal across the entire image; however, because of the much better focusing properties of the Ge crystal, the latter provides more signal within the central 100 μm of the spatial pro?le in the cross-dispersion direction and is thus more suitable for the narrow entrance window of the Livermore-built streak camera.

摘要: We describe the results of our work on enhanced electric breakdown strength observed in the plasma-anode bipolar optical system of a plasma-cathode electron gun. This kind of optical system uses a plasma-filled diode in which the acceleration and formation of the electron beam occurs in the double layer between the emission surface of the plasma cathode, stabilized by a fine-grained mesh, and the open surface of the anode plasma. The anode plasma is created by self-contained gas-discharge plasma sources whose original design was based on a plasma thruster with anode layer. The parameters of the plasma source are almost independent of the electron beam parameters, and its use in an electron gun enhances the breakdown strength of the acceleration gap and nearly doubles the electron beam current. The thruster-based plasma optical system (POS) resolves the anode grid problem and opens the way to controllable plasma-filled wide-aperture POS. We show that the POS can be effectively used for large-area electron beam formation.

摘要: A combined system including a MEVVA plasma source with a cylindrical electrostatic plasma-optical lens is considered for the first time. This combined system is of fundamental interest and could be attractive for a number of practical applications. The system can be used for effective repetitively pulsed, high current, moderate energy plasma sources of heavy metal ions and electrons. The hardware is interesting for high productivity technological equipment using dense pure plasma flow for the synthesis of fine coatings and thin films. We have studied the plasma-dynamic characteristics of high density plasma flow propagating through the plasma lens, the optical emission spectra and the charge state distribution, as a function of different experimental conditions. Application of the plasma lens to the transport of low energy high-current ion beams can improve the delivery of plasma to a substrate, as well as providing micro-droplet evaporation and elimination due to the presence of fast electrons within the lens region.
