  • Optimization of formaldehyde detection performance based on Ni2+ sensitized monodisperse amorphous zinc tin oxide microcubes

    摘要: The pure and Ni2+ sensitized monodisperse amorphous zinc tin oxide (a-ZTO) microcubes were synthesized via an in-situ precipitation method and subsequent wet impregnation. XPS results revealed that Ni2+ sensitization increased the relative content of chemisorbed oxygen and oxygen vacancies on the surface of a-ZTO microcubes. Compared to pure a-ZTO microcubes, 0.75 at% Ni2+ sensitized a-ZTO microcubes can significantly improve the gas sensing performance to formaldehyde at 200 °C, which may be attributed to its uniform morphology and modification of Ni2+ on the surface of a-ZTO microcubes. Further, the gas sensing mechanism is briefly discussed.

  • Hybridizing NiCo2O4 and amorphous NixCoy layered double hydroxides with remarkably improved activity towards the efficient overall water splitting

    摘要: Overall water splitting is an attractive technology to produce clean hydrogen and oxygen. In this study, we constructed amorphous NixCoy layered double hydroxide (LDH) hybridized with three-dimensional NiCo2O4 to fabricate core-shell nanowire array on Ni foam (NiCo2O4@NixCoy LDH/NF) as highly efficient electrocatalyst for overall water electrolysis. By tuning the Ni/Co molar ratio in NixCoy LDH, extremely low overpotentials of 193 mV for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and 115 mV for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) at a current density of 10 mA cm?2 can be achieved for the NiCo2O4@Ni0.796Co LDH/NF. Detailed investigations verify that the hybrid structure can increase intrinsic activity of the NiCo2O4@Ni0.796Co LDH/NF and enhance the charge-transfer rate. Moreover, a strong electronic interaction between the heterogeneous elements Ni and Co at the interface of the NiCo2O4 and NixCoy LDH might ultimately influence the catalytic performance.

  • A review on low-molar-mass carbazole- based derivatives for organic light emitting diodes

    摘要: Organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) have attracted a great deal of attention within academia and industry because of their potential applications in flat panel displays and solid-state lighting technologies. Among all low-molar-mass derivatives under investigation in OLEDs field, carbazole-based materials have been studied at length for their interesting physical properties, including good charge injection and transport, electro-luminescence, improved thermal and morphological stabilities as well as film forming properties. In addition, the relatively high triplet energy level of some substituted carbazoles makes them suitable candidates to design hosts for wide bandgap triplet emitters such as blue dopants. The article is written from structural organic chemist's point of view and is divided in several parts: V-shaped 3(2)-substituted carbazoles and derivatives with 9-carbazolyl rings, star-shaped 3,6(2,7)-substituted carbazoles and branched twin derivatives containing (di)arylcarbazolyl fragments.
