摘要: Conventional solid-state method has been used to produced bismuth layered ceramics of Sr0.7Bi2.2-xErxNb2O9 (SBN-xEr, x=0.0,0.4,0.6,0.8,1). Microstructure of all the samples were very dense. The structural and optical properties of the ceramics were investigated successfully.Under the excitation of 250 nm, Er3+ substituted Sr0.7Bi2.2Nb2O9has four intense emission bands peaking around 424 (violet), 444 (violet), 464 (Blue), 478 (Blue). In the present work SBN, well known ferroelectric material, beside the ferroelectric property, shows remarkable optical property because of Er3+ substitution. This feature of Er3+dopedSBN sample can be good for optoelectronic-device application. This also indicates that SBN-xEr ceramics can be used for high temperature optical application.

Na <sub/>0.5</sub> Bi <sub/>2.5</sub> Nb <sub/>2</sub> O <sub/>9</sub> lead-free piezoelectric ceramics with high Curie temperature derived from sol–gel route
摘要: An Aurivillius phase bismuth layer-structured compound, Na0.5Bi2.5Nb2O9 (NBN), has been prepared by an economical aqueous sol–gel technique. The results indicated that pure NBN nano-particles can be obtained at a low temperature of 650°C and the morphology are platelike with grain sizes of about 40 nm. Using these nano-particles, the dense NBN ceramics were fabricated at 1100°C for 2 h. The Curie temperature Tc and piezoelectric coefficient d33 at room temperature for the present ceramic were found to be 770°C and 11 pC/N, respectively. Thermal annealing studies indicate that the NBN ceramic possesses stable piezoelectric properties, demonstrating it is a promising candidate for high-temperature applications.

Crystal structure and electrical properties of textured Ba2Bi4Ti5O18 ceramics
摘要: Highly textured Ba2Bi4Ti5O18 ceramic was prepared by spark plasma sintering (SPS). X-ray di?raction of the ceramics revealed the coexistence of a major ferroelectric phase (Space group, SG: B2cb) and a minor paraelectric phase (SG: I4/mmm) at room temperature. A di?used phase transition was observed at around 240 °C. The evolution of the switching current peaks in the electric current vs. electric ?eld (I-E) loops with increasing temperature was interpreted by the structural changes and temperature dependent polarisation reversal processes. The slim polarisation vs. electric ?eld (P-E) loops, the extra switching current peaks in the I-E loops and the non-zero piezoelectric d33 coe?cient indicate that Ba2Bi4Ti5O18 is a relaxor ferroelectric material. The recoverable energy density (0.41 ± 0.01 J/cm3) of Ba2Bi4Ti5O18 ceramics in the perpendicular direction to the SPS pressing direction is close to that of Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-based ceramics. The obtained results suggest Ba2Bi4Ti5O18 ceramics might be promising for energy storage applications.
