摘要: The methods for modeling and detection of anomalous in the automatic control systems, and also practical methods for active analysis of anomalous situations, are presented. We develop algorithms for consecutive classification of onboard equipment failures and for reconfiguration of control loop. The simulation results are presented for the control systems of the information satellites and free-flying robots.

摘要: A particle filter (PF)-based robust navigation with fault diagnosis (FD) is designed for an underwater robot, where 10 failure modes of sensors and thrusters are considered. The nominal underwater robot and its anomaly are described by a switching-mode hidden Markov model. By extensively running a PF on the model, the FD and robust navigation are achieved. Closed-loop full-scale experimental results show that the proposed method is robust, can diagnose faults effectively, and can provide good state estimation even in cases where multiple faults occur. Comparing with other methods, the proposed method can diagnose all faults within a single structure, diagnose simultaneous faults, and it is easily implemented.

摘要: Cloud computing technology has become an integral trend in the market of information technology. Cloud computing virtualization and its Internet-based lead to various types of failures to occur and thus the need for reliability and availability has become a crucial issue. To ensure cloud reliability and availability, a fault tolerance strategy should be developed and implemented. Most of the early fault tolerant strategies focused on using only one method to tolerate faults. This paper presents an adaptive framework to cope with the problem of fault tolerance in cloud computing environments. The framework employs both replication and checkpointing methods in order to obtain a reliable platform for carrying out customer requests. Also, the algorithm determines the most appropriate fault tolerance method for each selected virtual machine. Simulation experiments are carried out to evaluate the framework’s performance. The results of the experiments show that the proposed framework improves the performance of the cloud in terms of throughput, overheads, monetary cost, and availability.

摘要: In this work, facing pressure from both the increasing vulnerability to single event effects (SEEs) and design constraints of the power consumption, we have proposed a Coarse-Grained Reconfigurable Architecture (CGRA) processor. Our goal is to translate a user programmable redundancy to a guide for balancing energy consumption on the one hand and the reliability requirements on the other. We designed software (SW) and hardware (HW) approaches, coordinating them closely to achieve this purpose. The framework provides several user-assignable patterns of redundancy and the hardware modules to interpret well these patterns. A first version prototype processor, with the name EReLA (Explicit Redundancy Linear Array) has been implemented and manufactured with a CMOS technology. Stress tests based on alpha particle irradiation were conducted to verify the tradeoff between the robustness and the power efficiency of the proposed schemes.

摘要: Solar energy is one of the most important sources of renewable energy. Photovoltaic arrays are a widely employed systems used to harvest solar energy. In such systems, the presence of faulty cells negatively affect the energy production of the entire array. The design of fault tolerant solar arrays is therefore attracting a growing interest. In this work, we propose a hardware implementation of a fault-recovery algorithm for solar cell arrays. The proposed system detects cells with degraded performance using a memristor as sensing device. With the aim of improving energy production ef?ciency, the connections among solar cells are recon?gured according to the array health status. The designed system automatically activates spare cells in the segments of the array to eventually increase energy production. The proposed solution can be adapted to arrays of any size and be applied to different types of solar cells. We show through simulations that the solution here proposed signi?cantly increases the energy production in presence of faults.

摘要: The recent popularity of the utilization of photovoltaic (PV) systems over conventional power generation has placed focus onto the reliability of support equipment, such as DC-AC inverters. With prolonged use, short-circuit (SC) or open-circuit (OC) faults can develop in the semiconductor devices. This work is proposing a novel fault diagnosis algorithm. The method makes use of the H-bridge inverter approximated as a synchronous switching buck converter while assuming that the grid frequency is much lower than the inverter switching frequency. The proposed algorithm allows detection and identification of SC and OC faults by combining a comparison between the estimated and actual inductor current and the incremental change in the output voltage. To allow continuous functioning of the inverter post fault, a redundant leg is added to the PV inverter. In this PV inverter topology, a fuse is allocated for each switch to prevent overcurrent and a triode for alternating current (TRIAC) is added for each leg to allow isolation of the faulty leg and connection of the redundant leg.
