摘要: Silicon based materials take a great importance in semiconductor and electronics industries. Detecting the cracks and measuring the stress have become increasingly important for electronic packaging. With knowing of the position and the range of stress concentration and crack zone, people can optimize the arrangement before manufacturing or detect the reliability of devices inworking. We introduce an instrument in this paper which is used to measure both stresses and cracks in silicon based materials for electronic packaging. The instrument was built as a microscope (maximum multiple 20) based on infrared photo elasticity. It was built with the function of automatic rotation of optical devices inside the instrument instead the traditional manual rotation which greatly improved the resolution and stability. A micro heating platform (500 ℃max) can be attached for some experiments with temperature requirement such as TSV temperature cycling test. The resolution of stress-birefringence phase difference is less than 2° (calibrated by the quarter wave plate). It can also be used in Si or SiC wafer bonding quality detection, and stress in MEMS can be measured as well.

Raman and infrared spectroscopy reveal that proliferating and quiescent human fibroblast cells age by biochemically similar but not identical processes
摘要: Dermal fibroblast cells can adopt different cell states such as proliferation, quiescence, apoptosis or senescence, in order to ensure tissue homeostasis. Proliferating (dividing) cells pass through the phases of the cell cycle, while quiescent and senescent cells exist in a non-proliferating cell cycle-arrested state. However, the reversible quiescence state is in contrast to the irreversible senescence state. Long-term quiescent cells transit into senescence indicating that cells age also when not passing through the cell cycle. Here, by label-free in vitro vibrational spectroscopy, we studied the biomolecular composition of quiescent dermal fibroblast cells and compared them with those of proliferating and senescent cells. Spectra were examined by multivariate statistical analysis using a PLS-LDA classification model, revealing differences in the biomolecular composition between the cell states mainly associated with protein alterations (variations in the side chain residues of amino acids and protein secondary structure), but also within nucleic acids and lipids. We observed spectral changes in quiescent compared to proliferating cells, which increased with quiescence cultivation time. Raman and infrared spectroscopy, which yield complementary biochemical information, clearly distinguished contact-inhibited from serum-starved quiescent cells. Furthermore, the spectra displayed spectral differences between quiescent cells and proliferating cells, which had recovered from quiescence. This became more distinct with increasing quiescence cultivation time. When comparing proliferating, (in particular long-term) quiescent and senescent cells, we found that Raman as well as infrared spectroscopy can separate these three cellular states from each other due to differences in their biomolecular composition. Our spectroscopic analysis shows that proliferating and quiescent fibroblast cells age by similar but biochemically not identical processes. Despite their aging induced changes, over long time periods quiescent cells can return into the cell cycle. Finally however, the cell cycle arrest becomes irreversible indicating senescence.

Review on multi gas detector using infrared spectral absorption technology
摘要: To provide some references for researchers engaged in infrared multi gas detection, this study introduced the infrared multi gas detection system thoroughly from infrared light source, infrared detector, optical multiplexing structure, and detection method. Currently, the coherent source represented by quantum cascade laser has replaced the traditional incoherent source like thermal radiant infrared light source and became the dominant light source in infrared multi gas detection. Accordingly, the infrared photodetector is widely used. The optical multiplexing structure based on the “multiplexing thought” is the core of infrared multi gas detection system. It mainly includes the single-source multiplex detection structure and multi-source multiplexing detection structure. Nondispersive infrared spectroscopy, long optical distance spectroscopy, wavelength/frequency modulation spectroscopy, cavity enhancement spectroscopy, and photoacoustic spectroscopy are major detection methods used in the infrared multi gas detection. This has important significance to many fields, such as industrial and agriculture production, environmental monitoring, life science, etc.

Development of a radiative transfer model for the determination of toxic gases by Fourier transform–infrared spectroscopy with a support vector machine algorithm
摘要: This report describes a radiative transfer model for Fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy to create close-to-reality toxic gas spectra by reflecting the unique spectral responses of detectors and using the atmospheric radiative transfer code, MODTRAN. This system can be highly useful in overcoming the limitations for measuring toxic gases in open environments. The emulated gas spectra can be used to train support vector machine (SVM) for chemical gas detection. Its detection performance is evaluated with nerve agents (tabun, sarin, soman, and cyclosarin) and a simulant gas (sulfur hexafluoride) for indoor and outdoor experiments by using two off-the-shelf FT-IR gas detectors. The experimental results show that the proposed SVM algorithm successfully detected and classified targeted gases while reducing false negative and false positive detection rates.

Thermal management and characterization of high-power wide-bandgap semiconductor electronic and photonic devices in automotive applications
摘要: GaN-based high-power wide-bandgap semiconductor electronics and photonics have been considered as promising candidates to replace conventional devices for automotive applications due to high energy conversion efficiency, ruggedness, and superior transient performance. However, performance and reliability are detrimentally impacted by significant heat generation in the device active area. Therefore, thermal management plays a critical role in the development of GaN-based high-power electronic and photonic devices. This paper presents a comprehensive review of the thermal management strategies for GaN-based lateral power/RF transistors and light-emitting diodes (LEDs) reported by researchers in both industry and academia. The review is divided into three parts: (1) a survey of thermal metrology techniques, including infrared thermography, Raman thermometry, and thermoreflectance thermal imaging, that have been applied to study GaN electronics and photonics, (2) practical thermal management solutions for GaN power electronics, and (3) packaging techniques and cooling systems for GaN LEDs used in automotive lighting applications.

Effect of Bad Connection on Surface Temperature of Lithium-Ion Batteries by Using Infrared Thermography
摘要: The temperature distribution of lithium-ion batteries in the electric vehicle is very important for the electric vehicle performance. Heat is produced during lithium-ion batteries operation while being charged and discharged. The battery can in worst case go into thermal runaway if the heat cannot be dissipated rapidly. This experimental investigation analysis the thermal behaviour of a 13Ah pouch type lithium-ion battery through characterisation and determination of the evolution of surface temperature distribution and profiles when there is a bad connection in the positive tab. Infrared thermography and contact thermocouples were employed for a commercial cell thermal analysis. Different types of load profiles were applied to the battery cell. The loads consisted of constant current charge and discharge cycles with currents magnitude of 13A, 26A, 39A and 52A.It was concluded that bad connection increased the non-uniformity of surface temperature and risk of thermal runaway in lithium-ion batteries.

A CMOS-Based Thermopile Array Fabricated on a Single SiO2 Membrane
摘要: We present a novel thermopile-based infrared (IR) sensor array fabricated on a single CMOS dielectric membrane, comprising of poly-silicon p+ and n+ elements. Processing of the chip is simplified by fabricating the entire array on a single membrane and by using standard CMOS Al metal layers for thermopile cold junction heatsinking. On a chip area of 1.76 mm × 1.76 mm, with a membrane size of 1.2 mm × 1.2 mm, we fabricated IR sensor arrays with 8 × 8 to 100 × 100 pixels. The 8 × 8 pixel device has <2% thermal crosstalk, a responsivity of 36 V/W and enhanced optical absorption in the 8–14 μm waveband, making it particularly suitable for people presence sensing.

NEAR-INFRARED SPECTROSCOPY OF NEARBY SEYFERT GALAXIES: IS THERE EVIDENCE FOR SHOCK EXCITATION IN NARROW-LINE REGIONS?
摘要: One of the important unsettled problems regarding active galactic nuclei (AGNs) is the major ionization mechanism of gas clouds in AGN narrow-line regions (NLRs). In order to investigate this issue, we present our J-band spectroscopic observations of a sample of 26 nearby Seyfert galaxies. In our study, we use the flux ratio of the following two forbidden emission lines, [Fe II]1.257μm and [P II]1.188μm, because it is known that this ratio is sensitive to the ionization mechanism. We obtain the [Fe II]/[P II] flux ratio or its lower limit for 19 objects. In addition to our data, we compile this flux ratio (or its lower limit) for 23 nearby Seyfert galaxies from the literature. Based on the collected data, we find that three Seyfert galaxies show very large lower limits of the [Fe II]/[P II] flux ratios (?10): NGC 2782, NGC 5005, and Mrk 463. It is thus suggested that the contribution of the fast shock in the gas excitation is significantly large for them. However, more than half of the Seyfert galaxies in our sample show moderate [Fe II]/[P II] flux ratios (~2), which is consistent with pure photoionization by power-law ionizing continuum emission. We also find that the [Fe II]/[P II] flux ratio shows no clear correlation with the radio loudness, suggesting that the radio jet is not the primary origin of shocks in NLRs of Seyfert galaxies.

Adaptive filtering of physiological noises in fNIRS data
摘要: The study presents a recursive least?squares estimation method with an exponential forgetting factor for noise removal in functional near?infrared spectroscopy data and extraction of hemodynamic responses (HRs) from the measured data. The HR is modeled as a linear regression form in which the expected HR, the first and second derivatives of the expected HR, a short?separation measurement data, three physiological noises, and the baseline drift are included as components in the regression vector. The proposed method is applied to left?motor?cortex experiments on the right thumb and little finger movements in five healthy male participants. The algorithm is evaluated with respect to its performance improvement in terms of contrast?to?noise ratio in comparison with Kalman filter, low?pass filtering, and independent component method. The experimental results show that the proposed model achieves reductions of 77% and 99% in terms of the number of channels exhibiting higher contrast?to?noise ratios in oxy?hemoglobin and deoxy?hemoglobin, respectively. The approach is robust in obtaining consistent HR data. The proposed method is applied for both offline and online noise removal.

The role of near-infrared spectroscopy in the detection of vulnerable atherosclerotic plaques
摘要: Coronary artery disease is the leading cause of mortality worldwide. Most acute coronary syndromes are caused by a rupture of a vulnerable atherosclerotic plaque which can be characterized by a lipid-rich necrotic core with an overlying thin fibrous cap. Many vulnerable plaques can cause angiographically mild stenoses due to positive remodelling, which is why the extent of coronary artery disease may be seriously underestimated. In recent years, we have witnessed a paradigm shift in interventional cardiology. We no longer focus solely on the degree of stenosis; rather, we seek to determine the true extent of atherosclerotic disease. We seek to identify high-risk plaques for improvement in risk stratification of patients and prevention. Several imaging methods have been developed for this purpose. Intracoronary near-infrared spectroscopy is one of the most promising. Here, we discuss the possible applications of this diagnostic method and provide a comprehensive overview of the current knowledge.
