    摘要: Losses in the phase shifters of phased arrays are one of the main limitations of these reconfigurable antennas. This contribution presents the design and measured results of variable phase shifters on triplicate suspended transmission lines in the microwave X-band for variable pointing radar applications. The antenna assembly remains passive and with a very low level of losses in the power distribution network and the phase shifters. PIN or varactor diodes are used to control the load on the transmission line. Each of these components has advantages and disadvantages that are discussed in the communication.

    摘要: Due to the minimum antenna area constraint, conventional single-satellite SAR cannot obtain the image with wide swaths as well as high-resolution. This problem can be solved by using single-platform multi-phase center SAR or constellation SAR, which divides the large antenna into small antennas. Compared with single-platform multi-phase center SAR, there are several advantages but also challenges for constellation SAR. In this paper, point-target imaging simulations are performed for linear array constellation SAR with long baseline. And the effect of the long baseline on imaging is discussed. And then the methods to overcome the effect and to reconstruct the unambiguity signal is given.

  • A generalised approach to calculate various transport observables for a linear array of series and parallel quantum dots

    摘要: A systematic generalised approach to ?nd transport observables for a linear array of different quantum dot (QD) systems has been discussed, using non-equilibrium Green function (NEGF) formalism, in the presence of on-dot Coulomb interaction and inter-dot tunnelling. The equation of motion (EOM) method has been used to derive expressions for Green functions (GFs) within the simplest mean-?eld approximation to tackle the Coulomb correlation term. Starting from the mathematical structures of GFs for single, double and triple quantum dot systems, the expressions for GFs and transport observables have been generalised for the quantum dot systems containing N number of quantum dots in series as well as parallel linear array of dots. Further, the formulae so obtained have been used for numerical calculations of transmission probability and the I –V characteristics of linear arrays of quantum dots in series as well as parallel con?guration containing up to three dots. The results show that, with the increase in number of dots in the scattering region, transmission probability and electron current decrease in series case, while both quantities increase in parallel con?guration of dots. The inter-dot tunnelling leads to the splitting of transmission peaks in double QD system in series case whereas, it induces Fano effect in triple QD system in parallel con?guration.

  • Three-dimensional view of out-of-plane artifacts in photoacoustic imaging using a laser-integrated linear-transducer-array probe

    摘要: Research on photoacoustic imaging (PAI) using a handheld integrated photoacoustic probe has been a recent focus of clinical translation of this imaging technique. One of the remaining challenges is the occurrence of out-of-plane artifacts (OPAs) in such a probe. Previously, we proposed a method to identify and remove OPAs by axially displacing the transducer array. Here we show that besides the benefit of removing OPAs from the imaging plane, the proposed method can provide a three-dimensional (3D) view of the OPAs. In this work, we present a 3D reconstruction method using axial transducer array displacement. By axially displacing the transducer array, out-of-plane absorbers can be three-dimensionally visualized at an elevation distance of up to the acquired imaging depth. Additionally, OPAs in the in-plane image are significantly reduced. We experimentally demonstrate the method with phantom and in vivo experiments using an integrated PAI probe. We also compare the method with elevational transducer array displacement and take into account the sensitivity of the transducer array in the 3D reconstruction.

  • A Novel Multi-Points Laser Monitoring of Building Settlement and Its Risk Evaluation

    摘要: Aiming at the defects of routine settlement measurement methods, such as complicated procedures, time-consuming and labor-intensive, high cost and low measurement accuracy, based on the analysis of existing engineering measurement technical requirements and specifications, a multi-point high precision and high efficiency based on laser reference is proposed. The automatic building settlement real-time monitoring system program gives the principle and system model of single-point settlement observation. The model of multi-point scanning settlement monitoring system and the model of multi-point network settlement monitoring system are designed, and their advantages and disadvantages are analyzed. We focus on the networked multi-point settlement monitoring system for network cumulative error analysis, and propose related evaluation and correction methods. The hardware schematic and software block diagram of the laser reference measurement and measurement system of the single point settlement acquisition system are given. Finally, the risk of subsidence state is quantitatively evaluated based on multi-point settlement monitoring data. The measurement error of this method is less than 300 μm, which can realize the monitoring and evaluation of the overall settlement.

    摘要: We propose a linear encoder which utilizes Terahertz (THz) wave and polarization information. The encoder consists of a polarization angle reader as a read head and a periodic polarizer linear array as a scale. The read head determines its position based on polarization angle on the scale. This technology has possibility to have resistance to fine particles and gap fluctuation between the read head and scale. We experimentally demonstrated that the linear encoder based on the terahertz polarimetric sensing is useful for the industrial applications.

    摘要: The work extends the multiple measurement vectors FOCUSS (M-FOCUSS) method for the synthesis of sparse array patterns with nonuniformly spaced linear arrays in wideband frequency. In the method, the synthesis result can obtain multiple pattern data of different frequencies having the best common element positions by virtue of the Multiple-Sensing-Matrices (MSM) scenario. Numerical examples show the high accuracy of achieving the desired radiation pattern in wideband frequency with maximally sparse non-uniform linear array.
