Optical memory characteristics of solution-processed organic transistors with self-organized organic floating gates for printable multi-level storage devices
摘要: Exploring optical memory functions in nonvolatile organic field-effect transistor (OFET) memories with top-gate/bottom-contact (TG/BC) configurations can offer effective routes for developing printable, high-density organic memory circuits capable of multi-level data storage. Here, we use a solution process to fabricate TG/BC OFET devices with organic floating-gate structures and investigate their memory characteristics under light illumination. A solution-processable organic composite of 6,13-bis(triisopropylsilylethynyl)pentacene (TIPS-pentacene) and poly(methylmethacrylate) is employed to self-organize organic floating-gate structures on a solution-processed semiconductor layer composed of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT). The floating-gate OFET devices programmed with blue, green, and red light exhibit large threshold voltage (Vth) shifts of approximately 30 V and stable charge retention characteristics even under light illumination. The devices also exhibit high sensitivity to incident light during programming, and the degree of Vth shift and the on-state current can be tuned using light and programming voltage to facilitate distinct storage and readout of multi-level data.

Multi-level Features Convolutional Neural Network for Multi-focus Image Fusion
摘要: Multi-focus image fusion is an important technique that aims to generate a single clean image by fusing multiple input images. In this paper, we propose a novel multi-level features convolutional neural network (MLFCNN) architecture for image fusion. In the MLFCNN model, all features learned from previous layers are passed to the subsequent layer. Inside every path between the previous layer and the subsequent layer, we add a 1x1 convolution module to reduce the redundancy. In our method, the source images first are fed to our pre-trained MLFCNN model to obtain the initial focus map. Then, the initial focus map is performed by morphological opening and closing operations and followed by a Gaussian filter to obtain the final decision map. Finally, the fused all-in-focus image is generated based on a weighted-sum strategy with the decision map. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms some state-of-the-art image fusion algorithms in terms of both qualitative and objective evaluations.

摘要: Electromagnetic (EM) non-destructive evaluation (NDE) of underground targets is of great significance for the safety of urban construction. Succesful detection of underground targets during construction depends on the accurate and efficient simulation of wave propagation. Among the most popular numerical methods in electromagnetics, surface integral equation (SIE) based method of moments (MoM) is used to simulate the scattering from underground targets in this paper. While MoM has high computational complexity O(N^2) and memory cost O(N^2) if iterative solver is applied, where N is the number of unknowns. As one of the most efficient fast algorithms, multi-level fast multi-pole algorithm (MLFMA) is used to reduce the computational complexity and memory cost. However, MLFMA is more difficult to calculate in this case because of the coupling action between rough surface and target has its limitations. So, adaptive cross approximation (ACA) is used to solve this problem. In this paper, a hybrid method combining MLFMA and ACA (MLFMA-ACA) is proposed to compute the scattering from underground targets. While MLFMA is used to compress the coupling matrix between rough surface and target, ACA is added to compress the coupling matrix between different media targets. The combination between them can build a more efficient method to compute scattering from underground targets.

Area-Efficient Analog FIR Filter for Multi-Level Optical Transmission; 多値光伝送歪み補償に用いる小面積アナログFIRフィルタ;
摘要: The transmission of waveforms through optical fiber usually results in some waveform distortion. To smoothen this distortion, digital finite-impulse response (FIR) filters are commonly employed. Digital FIR filters require a relatively large area for digital signal processing (DSP) on IC chip, so an analog FIR filter is adopted. According to past researches, it is possible to realize a small area circuit by using a CMOS inverter as a delay circuit. However, number of delay circuits employing CMOS inverter increases N/2 for Multi-Level optical transmission. Therefore, we propose a new multiplier and attempted to reduce the circuit area of 4 PAM analog FIR filter. According to the estimation using SPICE simulation, it can be expected to reduce the area by 25% by using the proposed configuration.

摘要: Amorphous indium–gallium–zinc oxide (a-IGZO) thin-?lm transistor nonvolatile memory devices with an IGZO charge storage layer were evaluated for the ?rst time for multi-level cell memory applications. The pristine device was de?ned as the original state (OS), which can be switched to the programmed state (PS) after a positive gate voltage pulse (for example, 12 V for 10 ms), and to the erased state (ES) after a negative gate voltage pulse (for example, ?15 V for 10 ms). The writing mechanism was attributed to Fowler–Nordheim tunneling of electrons from the channel to the charge storage layer under a positive gate bias and inverse tunneling under a negative gate bias. The devices demonstrated superior electrical programmable and erasable characteristics. A memory window of 2.4 V between OS and PS was maintained after 100 programming/erasing cycles, and a memory window of 2.66 V between OS and ES as well. The memory windows relative to OS are equal to 1.91 and 1.30 V for PS and ES, respectively, for a retention time of 105 s.

摘要: This paper intends to present a Web-based application to collect and manage clinical data and clinical trials together in a unique tool. I-maculaweb is a user-friendly Web-application designed to manage, share, and analyze clinical data from patients affected by degenerative and vascular diseases of the macula. The unique and innovative scientific and technological elements of this project are the integration with individual and population data, relevant for degenerative and vascular diseases of the macula. Clinical records can also be extracted for statistical purposes and used for clinical decision support systems. I-maculaweb is based on an existing multilevel and multiscale data management model, which includes general principles that are suitable for several different clinical domains. The database structure has been specifically built to respect laterality, a key aspect in ophthalmology. Users can add and manage patient records, follow-up visits, treatment, diagnoses, and clinical history. There are two different modalities to extract records: one for the patient’s own center, in which personal details are shown and the other for statistical purposes, where all center’s anonymized data are visible. The Web-platform allows effective management, sharing, and reuse of information within primary care and clinical research. Clear and precise clinical data will improve understanding of real-life management of degenerative and vascular diseases of the macula as well as increasing precise epidemiologic and statistical data. Furthermore, this Web-based application can be easily employed as an electronic clinical research file in clinical studies.

摘要: Medium voltage drives (MVDs) are commonly used in high-power applications and show significant impact on the overall system dynamics due to their large size and high power demand. Although detailed switching models for MVDs can be built using MATLAB/Simulink, such models cannot be used in large-scale simulation software for power system dynamic studies. To solve this problem, the dynamic load model for the medium voltage cascaded H-bridge multi-level inverter drive and induction motor systems, which is suitable for power system dynamic studies, is proposed in this paper. Analytical formula of the model is presented. The model includes the aggregated effect of an MVD, an induction motor, and their control system, and thus, it can accurately represent the dynamic responses of the motor drive system under disturbances. Both voltage and frequency dependence are considered in the model. The accuracy of the model is verified by a case study. A sensitivity study is conducted to evaluate the impact of the model parameter variation on dynamic response characteristics. The developed load model can be readily inserted in the large-scale power system simulation software for power system dynamic studies.

摘要: These days multilevel inverters are more popular for grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) systems due to their low cost and high efficiency, as they effectively reduce total harmonic distortion (THD) and electromagnetic interference which results leakage current. Traditional multi-level inverters can only inject real power that cannot provide quality output power. A new international standard VDE-AR-N4105 states that for a grid tied inverter of power rating below 3.68kVA, a power factor (PF) of 0.95 leading to 0.95 lagging should be achieved. So, in this paper the proposed five-level inverter topology for grid-tie PV is controlled using a reactive power control method that ensures higher efficiency while enhancing the stability of the system. The proposed closed loop reactive power control technique additionally provides the ability to inject reactive power into the system. In this proposed topology the reactive power flow standard of operation is explained in details in relation to the proposed multi-level inverter topology. To validate the accuracy of the theoretical analysis, the control technique was applied to the existing multi-level inverter topology and then has been simulated in MATLAB/Simulink software. Comparisons were done on the basis of using and not using PLL for the existing multilevel topology and it is found that, synchronization is achieved with current and voltage if PLL is used, as a result PF is maintained close to unity whereas without PLL the PF decreases. Moreover the five-level output provides a much better output and better PF then other existing topologies.

A multilevel color image thresholding scheme based on minimum cross entropy and alternating direction method of multipliers
摘要: In this paper, we focus on the problem of fast color image segmentation and propose a two-stage image segmentation method using multi-level thresholding algorithm and statistical region merging(SRM) technique. With the help of the alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM), the optimal threshold values can be determined by the centroid of sub-modes of the image histogram that follow minimum cross entropy(MEC). In the second stage, a modified SRM is used to remove over-segmented regions of thresholded image to bring the final result. Experimental results depicts that the proposed approach selects threshold values more efficiently as compared to other MCE-based thresholding techniques and produces high quality of the segmented color images than the other methods like mean-shift, normalized cuts(Ncuts) and differential evolution (Q=7).
