  • Preparation and photochromic behavior of spiropyran-containing fluorinated polyacrylate hydrophobic coatings

    摘要: In this study, spiropyran (SP)-containing fluorinated polyacrylate (F-PA-SP) latex was prepared by emulsion polymerization using fluorinated and SP-based acrylic monomers as raw materials. FT-IR and 1H-NMR demonstrate that the F-PA-SP copolymer has been successfully synthesized, and DLS and TEM analyses indicate that the synthesized latex has presented a uniform particle size of approximately 200 nm. XPS, AFM and water contact angle (WCA) analysis were used to investigate the surface properties of the F-PA-SP coating and demonstrate that its hydrophobicity is enhanced by addition of a fluorinated acrylic monomer. The photochromic properties of the coating were investigated by UV-Vis spectroscopy, and the results reveal that the F-PA-SP coating possesses better photo-responsiveness, fatigue resistance, and photo-reversibility under UV/Vis irradiation than the coating prepared using fluorinated polyacrylate/SP blended latex. Moreover, the WCA of the F-PA-SP coating subjected to UV/Vis irradiation shows minimal changes and retains its excellent hydrophobicity. Finally, the F-PA-SP latex was applied to cellulosic paper, and the resulting photochromic paper exhibits outstanding reversible color changes and hydrophobicity.

  • Laser cleaning performance and mechanism in stripping of Polyacrylate resin paint

    摘要: Laser cleaning is a high-efficient, newly emerging and environmentally friendly technology. Removing paint from aircraft skin is an important application of this technology. This paper describes how a high repetition frequency fiber laser of 1064 nm was used to remove the 50-μm-thick polyacrylic resin primer paint layer on an aircraft skin (LY12 aluminum alloy plate). Experiments were conducted to study the cleaning performance by varying process parameters such as scanning speed, pulse frequency, scanning line interval and laser power. This paper found that the quality and efficiency could be improved by selecting the appropriate combination of scanning speed and pulse frequency. The amount of paint stripped by the single pulsed laser increased with an increase in laser power. By analyzing the cleaned surface and the particles collected from the process, we propose three different kinds of possible stripping mechanisms: combustion reaction, thermal stress vibration effect and plasma shock effect.

  • Controlled Design of a Robust Hierarchically Porous and Hollow Carbon Fiber Textile for High‐Performance Freestanding Electrodes

    摘要: It is difficult to simultaneously get high mechanical strength and high self-healing efficiency within a short healing time for self-healing polyacrylate coatings reported so far. Herein, derived from multi-maleimide terminated hyperbranched polysiloxane, linear polyacrylate with furan-containing side chain and polydopamine particles (photothermal conversion agent), a new kind of polyacrylate coating (HPA) with a strong and flexible crosslinking network was developed, which simultaneously shows high mechanical strength and high self-healing efficiency within a short time. With 0.3 wt% polydopamine particles in HPA, the resulting coating (HPA3) has the highest toughness (2.63±0.10 MPa) with 12.9±0.7 MPa of tensile strength and 23.9±1.6% of elongation at break; what’s more, the self-healing efficiency of HPA3 is over 87.6% after only 2.5 min near-infrared laser irradiation, overcoming intractable problems in developing self-healing polyacrylate coatings. The study on the mechanism behind these outstanding performances of HPA system reveals that the reversible covalent crosslinking formed by multi-maleimide terminated hyperbranched polysiloxane is the necessary and crucial factor for simultaneously getting high mechanical strength and high self-healing efficiency at short time.

  • Effect of using ink containing polyacrylate and silicone surfactant on the inkjet printing of quantum dot films

    摘要: For device printing, it is important for uniform films to be printed because the morphology of the film affects the performance of the device in inkjet printing. In this study, to prepare stable and well-dispersed ink, polyacrylate and silicone surfactant BD-3033H were added to ink. Then a uniform quantum dot (QD) film was obtained by optimizing the polyacrylate and silicone surfactant contents of the ink as well as the substrate temperature. The change of the polyacrylate structure from a curly chain structure to a three-dimensional network structure blocked the outward flow of QDs. Silicone surfactant BD-3033H caused Marangoni flow and made the QDs flow inward. When the substrate temperature was increased, the solvent evaporation rate was accelerated, the contact line was pinned, and the outward flow was enhanced, which changed the film structure from convex to flat. Finally, when the polyacrylate content was 12 wt%, the silicone surfactant BD-3033H content was 0.10 wt%, the substrate temperature was 40°C, and the coffee ring effect was eliminated. A uniform QD film was printed, providing a technical guarantee for the fabrication of QD devices in the future.
