Noise-Free Rule-Based Fuzzy Image Enhancement
摘要: Different kinds of noises have considerable effects on most of image sensing systems. Suitable image contrast enhancement algorithms can improve contrast or retain detail information while reducing noises as well. Fuzzy representation of an image provides a reliable analysis when inexactness occurred at the gray level values. This paper presents a fuzzy-based novel image contrast enhancement method. Several image quality indices, such as similarity, naturalness, and mean brightness preserving examined and experimentally show the effectiveness of the proposed technique in comparison with well-known image enhancement methods such as histogram equalization and contrast limited adaptive histogram equalization methods.

Experimental verification of turbidity tolerance of stereo-vision-based 3D pose estimation system
摘要: This paper presents the verification of the turbidity tolerance of a stereo-vision-based 3D pose estimation system for underwater docking applications. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, no studies have yet been conducted on 3D pose (position and orientation) estimation against turbidity for underwater vehicles. Therefore, the effect of turbidity on the 3D pose estimation performance of underwater vehicles and a method of operating under turbid conditions were studied in this work. A 3D pose estimation method using the real-time multi-step genetic algorithm (RM-GA) proposed by the authors in the previous works shows robust pose estimation performance against changing environmental conditions. This paper discusses how and why the RM-GA is well suited to effective 3D pose estimation, even when turbid conditions disturb visual servoing. The experimental results confirm the performance of the proposed 3D pose estimation system under different levels of turbidity. To demonstrate the practical usefulness of the RM-GA, docking experiments were conducted in a turbid pool and a real sea environment to verify the performance and tolerance of the proposed system under turbid conditions. The experimental results verify the robustness of the system against turbidity, presenting a possible solution to a major problem in the field of robotics.

A Quantum Image Watermarking Scheme Based on Two-Bit Superposition
摘要: Quantum watermarking technology protects copyright by embedding an invisible quantum signal in quantum multimedia data. This paper proposes a two-bit superposition method which embeds a watermark image (or secret information) into a carrier image. Firstly, the bit-plane is used to encrypt the watermark image. At the same time, the quantum expansion method is used to extend the watermark image to the same size with the carrier image, and then the image is encrypted through the Fibonacci scramble method again. Secondly, the first proposed method is the two bits of the watermark image which is embedded into the carrier image in accordance with the order of the high and lowest qubit, and the second proposed method which is the high bit of the watermark image is embedded to the lowest bit. Then the lowest bit of the watermark image is embedded in carrier image. Third, the watermark image is extracted through 1-CNOT and swap gates, and the watermark image is restored by inverse Fibonacci scramble, inverse expansion method and inverse bit-plane scramble method. Finally, for the validation of the proposed scheme, the signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), the image histogram and the robustness of the two watermarking methods are analyzed.

摘要: With the continuous increase in the penetration rate of photovoltaics (PV), the operating environment of the power grid becomes more and more complex. Weak grids usually present electrical characteristics like high harmonic content, high grid impedance and fluctuating voltage. When a grid-connected PV inverter is connected to weak grids, the traditional control method shows its limitation. In view of the nonlinearity of the mathematical model of the PV inverters, the algorithm derived from passive-based control (PBC) theory can be used to control the PV inverter, enabling the inverter to have better performance in weak grids. Firstly, this paper establishes the Euler-Lagrange (EL) mathematical model of the inverter based on energy method, and proves the passivity of the inverter system. Secondly, passivity-based control is applied to design the traditional passivity-based controller of the inverter system by injecting damping; then an improved passivity control method based on quasi-PR control method is proposed, namely, the error energy is first sent to the quasi-PR controller to change the damping coefficient of the system, then the coefficient is send to a conventional passivity-based controller to achieve the improved passivity-based control method. Finally, experimental comparison of the two methods show that the improved passivity-based control method is more suitable for weak grids with voltage instability and large impedance. The experimental results verify that the improved passivity-based control has strong robustness when the voltage fluctuates.

Robust and distortion control dual watermarking in LWT domain using DCT and error correction code for color medical image
摘要: This paper presents lifting wavelet transform (LWT) and discrete cosine transform (DCT) based robust watermarking approach for tele-health applications. For identity authentication, 'signature watermark' of size '64 × 64' and 'patient report' of size '80' characters are hiding into the host medical image. Further, the signature watermark is encrypted by message-digest (MD5) and 'patient report' is encoded by BCH error correcting code before embedding into the host image. Experimental demonstrations indicate that the method provides sufficient robustness and security against various attacks without significant distortion between cover and watermarked image. Further, our results proved that the method offer NC value more than 0.9214 for most of the considered attacks. Furthermore, it is evident from results our method shows the improvement in robustness to previously reported techniques under consideration while providing low computational complexity.

Robust pulses for high fidelity non-adiabatic geometric gate operations in an off-resonant three-level system
摘要: We propose a method to design pulses in a resonant three-level system to enhance the robustness of non-adiabatic geometric gate operations. By optimizing the shape of the pulse envelope, we show that the gate operations are more robust against frequency detuning than they are with Gaussian and square pulses. Our method provides a way to design pulses that can be employed in a system where robustness against frequency variations or inhomogeneous broadening is required, and may be extended to ensure robustness against other physical imperfections such as intensity fluctuations and random noises.

Dual-Polarization Frequency Selective Rasorber With Independently Controlled Dual-Band Transmission Response
摘要: It is of significant importance for any classification and recognition system, which claims near or better than human performance to be immune to small perturbations in the dataset. Researchers found out that neural networks are not very robust to small perturbations and can easily be fooled to persistently misclassify by adding a particular class of noise in the test data. This, so-called adversarial noise severely deteriorates the performance of neural networks, which otherwise perform really well on unperturbed dataset. It has been recently proposed that neural networks can be made robust against adversarial noise by training them using the data corrupted with adversarial noise itself. Following this approach, in this paper, we propose a new mechanism to generate a powerful adversarial noise model based on K-support norm to train neural networks. We tested our approach on two benchmark datasets, namely the MNIST and STL-10, using muti-layer perceptron and convolutional neural networks. Experimental results demonstrate that neural networks trained with the proposed technique show significant improvement in robustness as compared to state-of-the-art techniques.

摘要: Although the field of automatic speaker or speech recognition has been extensively studied over the past decades, the lack of robustness has remained a major challenge. Feature warping is a promising approach and its effectiveness significantly depends on the relative positions of each of the features in a sliding window. However, the relative positions are changed due to the non-linear effect of noise. Aiming at the problem, this paper takes the advantage of ranking feature, which is obtained directly by sorting a feature sequence in descending order, to propose a method. It first labels the central frame in a sliding window as speech or noise dominant (‘‘reliable’’ or ‘‘unreliable’’). In the unreliable case, the ranking of the central frame is estimated. Subsequently, the estimated ranking is mapped to a warped feature using a desired target distribution for recognition experiments. Through the theoretical analysis and experimental results, it is found that autocorrelation of a ranking sequence is larger than that of the corresponding feature sequence. What is more, rank correlation is not easily influenced by abnormal data or data that are highly variable. Thus, this paper deals with a ranking sequence rather than a feature sequence. The proposed feature enhancement approach is evaluated in an open-set speaker recognition system. The experimental results show that it outperforms missing data method based on linear interpolation and feature warping in terms of recognition performance in all noise conditions. Furthermore, the method proposed here is a feature-based method, which may be combined with other technologies, such as model-based, scores-based, to enhance the robustness of speaker or speech recognition system.

Semi-Quantum Dialogue with Bell Entangled States
摘要: In this paper, we construct a semi-quantum dialogue (SQD) protocol by using Bell entangled states as the initial quantum resource. The information leakage problem is prevented by utilizing the entanglement correlation of two particles from one Bell entangled state. The security towards active attacks from an outside Eve is guaranteed by twice security checks and one classical one-time pad encryption process. The proposed SQD protocol can be realized in experiment with present quantum technologies. Compared with the traditional quantum dialogue (QD) protocols without information leakage, the advantage of the proposed SQD protocol lies in that it doesn’t require both communicants to possess quantum capabilities.

Flexible Organic Solar Cells Over 15% Efficiency with Polyimide-Integrated Graphene Electrodes
摘要: A highly flexible and durable transparent graphene electrode with thermal stability was developed via the direct integration of polyimide (PI) on graphene. Due to the high transparency of PI-integrated graphene electrode and intimate contact between graphene and PI substrate, high-efficiency flexible organic solar cell with a PCE of 15.2% and outstanding mechanical robustness was obtained.
