摘要: One of the main vulnerabilities of GNSS receivers is their exposure to intentional or unintentional jamming signals, which could even cause service unavailability. Several alternatives to counteract these effects were proposed in the literature, being the most promising those based on multiple antenna architectures. This is specially the case for high-grade receivers used in applications requiring reliability and robustness. This article provides an overview of the possible receiver architectures encompassing antenna arrays and the associated signal processing techniques. Emphasis is also put on the most typical implementation issues found when dealing with such technology. A thorough survey is complemented with a set of experiments, including real data processing by a working prototype, which exemplifies the above ideas.

摘要: A major drawback of frequency modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) radar systems is the permanent leakage from the transmit into the receive path. Besides leakage within the radar device itself, signal reflections from a fixed object in front of the antennas additionally introduce so-called short-range (SR) leakage. It causes a strong degradation of detection sensitivity due to the unavoidable phase noise of the transmit oscillator. In this work, we introduce an artificial on-chip target (OCT) to mitigate the SR leakage. The OCT consists of a delay line whose time delay is significantly smaller than the round-trip delay time of the SR leakage. This is motivated by the fact that in integrated circuits for automotive radar applications operating at 77 GHz delay lines in the range of only a few picoseconds can be realized with a reasonable amount of circuitry. Despite this constraint, we show that the proposed method achieves almost perfect cancelation of the SR leakage. The concept is based on the cross-correlation properties of the residual phase noise in the intermediate frequency (IF) domain. Further, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified in an FMCW radar system simulation. It almost perfectly shows that a gain in sensitivity of approximately 6 dB is achieved, compensating for the performance degradation caused by the SR leakage. The novel leakage cancelation concept is carried out mainly in the digital domain enabling high flexibility and adaptivity.

摘要: Many economically important minerals have absorption features in the short-wave infrared (SWIR; 2000–2500 nm). Sensors which measure this part of the spectrum cannot detect the wavelength minimum of a feature at ~900 nm (F900), indicative of ferric iron mineralogy. A method based on Gaussian processes (GPs) was developed and compared with multiple linear regression (MLR) to estimate the wavelength position of F900 from SWIR data (1002–1355 nm). SWIR data with different signal-to-noise ratios were acquired from crushed rock samples by a nonimaging spectrometer and an imaging spectrometer. GP estimates of wavelength position were converted to the proportion of goethite using coefficients from a regression of the proportion of goethite determined from X-ray diffraction (XRD) on wavelength position measured directly from spectra. GP-estimated wavelength positions were within the 2-nm and ~4-nm root-mean-square error of measurements made directly from spectra for nonimaging and imaging spectrometer data, respectively. Proportions of goethite derived from these estimates were respectively within 4% and 6% of the values measured by XRD. MLR performed poorly compared to GPs when applied to data with no added noise and failed when applied to data with added noise or to imaging spectrometer data. These findings indicate that the wavelength position of F900—an indicator of ferric iron mineralogy—can be estimated from data acquired at SWIR wavelengths (1002–1355 nm). This opens up possibilities for using a single (SWIR) sensor to acquire information on ferric iron mineralogy (using F900) and other minerals with diagnostic absorptions between 1000 and 2500 nm.

Research on Power Equalization of Three-phase Cascaded H-Bridge Photovoltaic Inverter Based on the Combination of Hybrid Modulation Strategy and Zero-Sequence Injection Methods
摘要: We demonstrate for the ?rst time an intensity-modulated direct-detection link using four states of polarization. The four data-independent tributaries are each assigned distinct states of polarization to enable the receiver to separate the signals. Polarization rotation due to propagation over optical ?ber is tracked and compensated with simple digital signal processing in Stokes space. Transmission below the forward error correction limit is shown for maximum net bitrates of 100 Gb/s (4 × 27 GBd) and 120 Gb/s (4 × 32 GBd) over 2-km standard single-mode ?ber at a center wavelength of 1550 nm.

Modeling of optical signal processing based on injection-locked broadband quantum cascade lasers
摘要: An all-optical signal processing approach has been presented which relies on gain competition between interconnected wavelengths in a broadband QCL. It has been shown that optical injection-locking, as the physical mechanism which modifies the inter-coupling between widely separated wavelengths, induces spectral reshaping through suppressing or raising the output intensity at intended wavelengths. Our developed model which is based on an experimental demonstration of an ultra-broadband QCL reveals a correlation between the intensity and modulation response of the injection-locked wavelengths. Also, it has been shown that logic operations and extremely wideband wavelength conversion between the mid and far-IR spectral regions of the laser can be accomplished.

摘要: The cells in an organism emit different amounts of proteins according to their clinical state (healthy/pathological, for instance). The resulting proteomic pro?le can be used for early detection, diagnosis, and therapy planning. In this paper, we study the classi?cation of a proteomic sample from the point of view of an inverse problem with a joint Bayesian solution, called inversion-classi?cation. We propose a hierarchical physical forward model and present encouraging results from both simulation and clinical data.

摘要: In this paper, we review recent progress on space division multiplexed (SDM) transmission and our proposal of dense SDM (DSDM) with more than 30 spatial channels toward capacities beyond petabit/s. Furthermore, we discuss the requirements for realizing long-haul DSDM transport systems using multicore and/or multimode fiber, including power and space efficient amplification schemes, the use of fibers with large effective areas and transmission lines with low intercore crosstalk, low differential mode delay (DMD), and low mode dependent loss (MDL). Graded index heterogeneous 12-core × 3-mode fiber with low crosstalk, low DMD, and low MDL, parallel multiple-input and multiple-output signal processing, low mode dependent gain Erbium-doped fiber amplifiers, and MDL equalization technologies are significant as regards extending the reach of multicore and multimode transmission. We review our long-distance transmission experiment on polarization-division multiplexed 16-quadrature amplitude modulation signaling over 12-core × 3-mode fiber.

摘要: A synergetic approach for the estimation of stable boundary layer height (SBLH) using lidar and microwave radiometer (MWR) data is presented. Vertical variance of the backscatter signal from a ceilometer is used as an indicator of the aerosol stratification in the nocturnal stable boundary layer. This hypothesis is supported by a statistical analysis over one month of observations. Thermodynamic information from the MWR-derived potential temperature is incorporated as coarse estimate of the SBLH. Data from the two instruments are adaptively assimilated by using an extended Kalman filter (EKF). A first test of the algorithm is performed by applying it to collocated Vaisala CT25K ceilometer and humidity and temperature profiler MWR data collected during the HD(CP)2 Observational Prototype Experiment (HOPE) campaign at Jülich, Germany. The application of the algorithm to different atmospheric scenarios reveals the superior performance of the EKF compared to a nonlinear least squares estimator, particularly in nonidealized conditions.

摘要: We describe a method of oversampling signals defined on a weighted graph by using an oversampled graph Laplacian matrix. The conventional method of using critically sampled graph filter banks has to decompose the original graph into bipartite subgraphs, and a transform has to be performed on each subgraph because of the spectral folding phenomenon caused by downsampling of graph signals. Therefore, the conventional method cannot always utilize all edges of the original graph in a single stage transformation. Our method is based on oversampling of the underlying graph itself, and it can append nodes and edges to the graph somewhat arbitrarily. We use this approach to make one oversampled bipartite graph that includes all edges of the original non-bipartite graph. We apply the oversampled graph with the critically sampled graph filter bank or the oversampled one for decomposing graph signals and show the performances on some experiments.

摘要: We examine whether modeling of the causal dynamic relationships between frontal and occipital electroencephalogram (EEG) time-series recordings reveal reliable differentiating characteristics of Alzheimer’s patients versus control subjects in a manner that may assist clinical diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The proposed modeling approach utilizes the concept of principal dynamic modes (PDMs) and their associated nonlinear functions (ANF) and hypothesizes that the ANFs of some PDMs for the AD patients will be distinct from their counterparts in control subjects. To this purpose, global PDMs are extracted from 1-min EEG signals of 17 AD patients and 24 control subjects at rest using Volterra models estimated via Laguerre expansions, whereby the O1 or O2 recording is viewed as the input signal and the F3 or F4 recording as the output signal. Subsequent singular value decomposition of the estimated Volterra kernels yields the global PDMs that represent an ef?cient basis of functions for the representation of the EEG dynamics in all subjects. The respective ANFs are computed for each subject and characterize the speci?c dynamics of each subject. For comparison, signal features traditionally used in the analysis of EEG signals in AD are computed as benchmark. The results indicate that the ANFs of two speci?c PDMs, corresponding to the delta–theta and alpha bands, can delineate the two groups well.
