  • Sol-Gel Derived Dip Coated ZnO – La <sub/>2</sub> O <sub/>3</sub> Thin Film Transistors

    摘要: ZnO thin ?lms are fabricated utilizing a cost effective sol-gel dip coating technique and potentially applied as active material in thin ?lm transistors (TFT). The channel length of the TFT is maintained at 40 μm. Thermally deposited high –k La2O3 is used as dielectric material. The fabricated ZnO ?lms are annealed in oxygen atmosphere at 500?C for 1 hour and characterized by XRD, EDX and SEM analysis. The TFTs are fabricated in top gate coplanar electrodes structure on glass substrates. The electrical characteristics of the TFTs are investigated and some important electrical parameters are evaluated. The TFTs exhibit ?eld effect mobility of 1.9 cm2/VS, low threshold voltage of 2.5 Volt, high ON/OFF current ratio of 107, sub-threshold swing of 0.8V/decade, transconductace of 1.2 × 10?3 mho and gain band-width product of 20 kHz.

  • Luminescent mesoporous films containing europium III complex

    摘要: Mesoporous materials have large speci?c area and pore volume, low density, and high mechanical and thermal stability. These materials can be applied as catalysts, shape-selective adsorbents, chemical sensors, and capsules for controlled release of therapeutic agents; they can also be employed in microelectronics, electro-optics, and other emerging nanotechnologies. In this study, we used the sol–gel process to obtain mesoporous silica ?lms by dip coating. A trispyrazolyl borate, or scorpionate (Tp), complex containing europium III was incorporated into a mesoporous silica ?lm via wet impregnation. The silica precursor solution was prepared by homogenizing tetraethylorthosilicate, deionized water, ethanol, and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide. The ?lms were obtained by the dip-coating technique (between one and two depositions) at a deposition rate of 300 mm/min; borosilicate glasses were used as substrates. The ?lms were characterized by X-ray di?raction, infrared spectroscopy, transmittance, and europium III photoluminescence analyses. X-ray di?raction showed that mesoporous silica was present in the substrate. Silica without thermal treatment and silica treated at 200 °C presented pore diameters of 3.75 and 3.45 nm, respectively. Thermal treatment eliminated the surfactant. The excitation and emission spectra con?rmed that the luminescent europium III complex was incorporated into the mesoporous silica ?lm, which can be employed as sensor.

  • Electro-photocatalytic Fenton Decolorization of Orange G Using Mesoporous TiO2/stainless Steel Mesh Photo-Electrode Prepared by the Sol-Gel Dip-Coating Method

    摘要: A photo-electrochemical process is a powerful and eco-friendly method for treating industrial wastewater. Electro-photocatalytic Fenton (EPF) was employed for orange G decolorization using two kinds of photo-electrodes with TiO2 film-coated stainless steel (SS) mesh. These photo-electrodes are prepared by a dip-coating method from the sol-gel-derived TiO2 sols incorporating with various amounts of P25+TiO2 powders (SGDC method). The single dip-coated electrode with the TiO2 sol containing 50 g/L P25 powders possesses similar crystallinity and decolorization performance to the four repetitive dip-coated electrodes with pure TiO2 sol. The kinetics of orange G decolorization using P25+TiO2 film electrode in photocatalytic (PC), electro-Fenton (EF) and EPF processes followed pseudo first-order kinetics model, and the EPF has the highest reaction rate. The efficiency of orange G decolorization achieves 78% via the EPF reaction for 3 h. The SGDC method using the TiO2 sol containing P25 powders not only enhances the TiO2 coating on the SS substrate, but also produces microcracks in the film, that facilitates the in-situ generation of ferrous ions and further induces the EPF reaction for an effective degradation of organic matter in wastewater.
