  • Novel High Gain, High Efficiency DC–DC Converter Suitable for Solar PV Module Integration With Three-Phase Grid Tied Inverters

    摘要: This paper proposes a novel configuration for high gain, high efficiency dc–dc converter comprising a single switch, two intermediate capacitors, and a coupled inductor for low voltage solar PV module fed applications. The high voltage gain is achieved by charging the intermediate capacitors through the coupled inductor in parallel and discharging in series. In a two winding coupled inductor, considered in the presented work, maximum two intermediate capacitors can be integrated with the secondary winding. A passive lossless clamped circuit is also provided in the converter, which recovers the leakage energy to improve the efficiency and alleviate large voltage spike. The structure of the circuit is such that the power device voltage stress is reduced thereby increasing the efficiency. The maximum power point tracking at various irradiation levels is implemented in the proposed converter. Laboratory prototype of a 300-W system with 30–45-V input and 700-V output was built to validate the theoretical claims. All the detailed analysis, simulation, and experimental waveforms are presented. A maximum converter efficiency of around 95% is achieved.

    摘要: The Renewable energy source like solar Photovoltaic is desired to be worked at low voltages. For grid-tied applications, it requires high voltage conversion which results in a reduced efficiency. In this work, zero-voltage switching (ZVS) based dc-dc converter with high step-up active clamped coupled inductor is presented for grid-tied solar photovoltaic applications. For achieving high conversion ratio switched capacitor cell is inserted to coupled inductor secondary winding. With this combination, the difficulties of leakage inductance are overcome. The active clamp circuit is incorporated to overwhelm the voltage spikes across the switches and also to implement the ZVS operation for switching devices. Simulation results for the proposed dc-dc converter are presented with the theoretical analysis.

    摘要: Researchers from Xi’an University of Technology in China, alongside researchers from the ENSEIRB and the IERF in France, propose an auto-tuning network for a phased-array high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) system based on a variable synchronous switched capacitor. The novel system is capable of automatically compensating for the reactive power and impedance drifts, caused by temperature fluctuations and manufacturing errors, in circuit transducers and complies with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) compatibility regulations.

    摘要: In this paper, a shifting carrier based maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm for multisource converters is proposed. This MPPT algorithm is explained for both low frequency (constant carrier) and high frequency (triangular) carrier signals. The proposed algorithm is applied for a single stage multisource switched capacitor based multilevel inverter for grid connected and stand-alone photovoltaic applications. This converter features high gain, less component count, self capacitor charge balancing, better dispersed value of sources and increased source utilization. The importance of selecting an appropriate pulse width modulation technique for switched capacitor based inverters in order to maintain the capacitor charging time is explained. The proposed technique is able to track the maximum power under varying irradiance levels. The experimental results of the proposed algorithm is presented. The MPPT technique is analyzed and veri?ed in simulation for stand-alone and grid connected applications using MATLAB/Simulink platform.

    摘要: This paper proposes a analysis of a LED driver. The driver consists of a resonant switched capacitor converter designed to operate in CCM and fed from nanogrid. This mode of operation allows the reduction of current peaks and, consequently, reduction of conduction losses. There is ZVS in the turn-off of the switches due to the full charge and discharge of the switched capacitor. Therefore, switching losses are also reduced. The inductor operates at twice the switching frequency, contributing to the reduction of the magnetic elements. In addition, this converter has the advantage of stabilizing the power of the LED by adjusting the switching frequency, without the needing sensors and control circuit, which reduces the cost of the circuit. In order to validate the comparative analysis, a 10W prototype was designed in a laboratory, operating with a switching frequency of approximately 58 KHz, and presenting an overall ef?ciency of 92.8% in nominal conditions.

  • Switched Capacitor-Coupled Inductor DCa??DC Converter for Grid-Connected PV System using LFCSO-Based Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System

    摘要: In this paper, the Levy °ight-based chicken swarm optimization (LFCSO) is proposed to follow the highest power of grid-joined photovoltaic (PV) framework. To analyze the grid-associated PV framework, the characteristics of current, power, voltage, and irradiance are determined. Because of the low yield voltage of the source PV, a big advance up converter with big productivity is required when the source PV is associated with the matrix power. A tale great advance up converter dependent on the exchanged capacitor and inductor is illustrated in this paper. The LFCSO algorithm with the adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system is used to generate the control pulses of the transformer-coupled inductor DC–DC converter-less switched capacitor. While using the switched capacitor-coupled inductor, the voltage addition is expanded in the DC–DC converter and the power of PV is maximized. Here, the normal CSO algorithm is updated with the help of Levy °ight functions to generate optimal results. To get the accurate optimal results, the output of the proposed LFCSO algorithm is given as the input of the ANFIS technique. After that, the optimal results are generated and they provide the pulses for the system. The working guideline is analyzed and the voltage addition is derived with the utilization of the proposed technique. From that point forward, it predicts the exact maximum power of the converter according to its inputs. Under the variety of solar irradiance and partial shading conditions (PSCs), the PV system is tested and its characteristics are analyzed in di?erent time instants. The proposed LFCSO with ANFIS method is actualized in Simulink/MATLABstage, and the tracking executing is examined with a traditional method such as genetic algorithm (GA), perturb and observe (P&O) technique–neuro-fuzzy controller (NFC) and fuzzy logic controller (FLC) technique.

    摘要: In this paper, we propose a discrete-time IIR low-pass ?lter that achieves a high-order of ?ltering through a charge-sharing rotation. Its sampling rate is then multiplied through pipelining. The ?rst stage of the ?lter can operate in either a voltage-sampling or charge-sampling mode. It uses switches, capacitors and a simple gm-cell, rather than opamps, thus being compatible with digital nanoscale technology. In the voltage-sampling mode, the gm-cell is bypassed so the ?lter is fully passive. A 7th-order ?lter prototype operating at 800 MS/s sampling rate is implemented in TSMC 65 nm CMOS. Bandwidth of this ?lter is programmable between 400 kHz to 30 MHz with 100 dB maximum stop-band rejection. Its IIP3 is +21 dBm and the averaged spot noise is 4.57 nV/ Hz. It consumes 2 mW at 1.2 V and occupies 0.42 mm2.

    摘要: The paper proposed a novel switched capacitor based high gain quadratic DC-DC boost converter with Perturb & Observe MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) controller. The converter configuration is appropriate to be employed in fuel cell and solar photovoltaic systems. The presented converter topology is designed with solar powered switched capacitor based voltage lift technique to provide high voltage conversion ratio. Due to variable atmospheric conditions it’s very difficult to provide constant output to the LED (Light Emitting Diode) load. Even small change in the characteristics of LED that will effect to damage the load. Hence P&O (Perturb & Observe) MPPT controller is applying for the designed converter configuration in order to produce stable output with high gain under variable weather conditions. Due to high step up gain and symmetrical configuration of the circuit topology, the stress voltage across the power semiconductor devices is low. Hence, the metal oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor gives high performance with low ON state resistance. The design cost of the circuit is reduces because of using low voltage rating diodes. Also reverse recovery and conduction losses are low which improves the power conversion and efficiency of the converter. The principle of operation and steady state analysis of the circuit topology are conferred in detail. Finally a simulation experiment of proposed converter with 120Watts of LED load is simulated and verified with theoretical analysis.

    摘要: This paper proposes a practical solution of high-frequency-link dc transformer based on switched capacitor (SCDCT) for medium-voltage dc (MVDC) power distribution application. Compared to the traditional dc transformer scheme, the proposed SCDCT can disconnect from MVDC distribution grid effectively as a dc breaker when a short fault occurs in the distribution, can enhance power transfer capacity, and always ensures high-frequency-link voltage match to improve current impact and ef?ciency performances, and the redundancy design can be achieved when some submodules fail to improve the reliability. In the paper, the topology, voltage and power characterization, control strategy, startup, and fault solution of SCDCT are presented and analyzed comprehensively. At last, an SCDCT prototype is built and the experimental results verify the correctness and effectively of the proposed solution.

  • Analysis of an LED lighting circuit using a hybrid bucka??boost converter with high gain

    摘要: In this paper, a hybrid buck–boost dc–dc converter and its analysis method are presented for LED lighting applications. Unlike existing LED driver circuits, the proposed driver circuit has a hybrid structure which consists of a buck–boost converter and a switched-capacitor (SC) step-up converter with flying capacitors. The features of the proposed driver are as follows: 1. High voltage gain provided by cascading two dc–dc converters, 2. Flexible LED current control using step-up/step-down conversion, and 3. Small volume offered by a single inductor structure. Concerning the proposed driver circuit, a simple equivalent circuit is derived by theoretical analysis. Furthermore, the characteristics of the proposed converter are revealed by simulation program with integrated circuit emphasis (SPICE) simulations and breadboard experiments. The results of simulation and experiment demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed driver circuit. The proposed driver circuit can achieve about 89% efficiency and ?10 V output when the output load is 400 mW.
