GQDs and N-GQD samples were successfully prepared from CA by hydrothermal pyrolysis in a strong reducing medium, NaOH, with the help of microwave. The method allows rapid production of GQDs in large quantities, meeting the requirements for various applications in optoelectronics, energy, and medicine.
