A novel ECL sensing system for ultrasensitive DNA analysis based on ECL-RET mechanism between g-CNQDs and AuNPs was established. The g-CNQDs was acted as an energy emitter and AuNPs served as quenchers in the fabrication of an ECL-RET-based biosensor for DNA detection. In the range of 0.02 fM to 0.1 pM, the ECL intensity changed linearly with the logarithm of T-DNA concentration with a detection limit of 0.01 fM (3σ). The successful construction of the ECL-RET system between g-CNQDs and AuNPs is expected to support the application of ECL biosensing to bioassays because of the eco-friendly characteristics of g-CNQDs.
