A single session of micropulse laser trabeculoplasty did not affect central corneal thickness and corneal endothelium parameters in eyes with primary open-angle and pseudoexfoliation glaucoma. Further follow-up studies with larger numbers of eyes are required to establish immediate as well as long-term effects of MLT on the corneas of primary open-angle glaucoma eyes and more significantly on the predisposed corneas of pseudoexfoliation glaucoma eyes.

The study did not include a corneal assessment during the immediate post-MLT period, and the fellow untreated eyes were not used as controls. The sample size could be small to detect any statistically significant changes in corneas after MLT.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
A single-centre, prospective, case series study was conducted to evaluate the effect of micropulse laser trabeculoplasty on corneal endothelial parameters.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Patients with primary open-angle and pseudoexfoliation glaucoma under treatment with glaucoma agents requiring additional intraocular pressure reduction were enrolled.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
The Iridex IQ 532 laser system was used for micropulse laser trabeculoplasty. Corneal endothelial parameters were measured using SP-02 non-contact specular microscopy and RTVue-100 Fourier-domain OCT.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Eyes underwent 360 degrees treatment with 532 nm micropulse laser trabeculoplasty. Central corneal thickness, endothelial cell count, hexagonal cell ratio, and co-ef?cient of variation of endothelial cells were measured before and at one, three, and six months after treatment.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS statistical package version 23.0. The Friedman’s non-parametric test was applied to compare endothelial cell parameters throughout the study.
