The study successfully synthesized MWCNT/B2O3 composite and obtained high-quality SERS spectra with the detection limit of B2O3 down to 10?4 M concentration. The calculated enhancement factor (EF) is up to 105. Further steps could include improving the quality of the synthesized Ag NPs and investigating the effects of MWCNT/B2O3 ratio upon the SERS activity.

1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The synthesis of MWCNT/B2O3 composite was performed using laser ablation in liquid environment (LALE) method. Silver nanoparticles were synthesized via Lee-Meisel technique for SERS measurements.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Multiwalled carbon nanotubes with diameters and lengths in the range of ~15-20 nm and length of ~2.5 μm, respectively, were prepared by CVD route. Boron oxide (B2O3) was used as the doping material.

4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
MWCNTs powder was mixed with boron oxide (B2O3), immersed in ethanol, and subjected to laser beam irradiance. The mixture was heated and stirred during laser irradiation. Ag nanoparticles were synthesized by dissolving AgNO3 in water, boiling, and adding sodium citrate solution.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
UV/Vis/NIR absorption spectroscopy and SEM imaging were used for characterization of Ag NPs. Raman spectroscopy was used to study the crystalline and structural changes of the MWCNTs framework.
