研究目的
To compare underwater laser scanning (ULS) and laser gated viewing (LGV) technologies and provide an overview of their different applications in underwater imaging, focusing on their effectiveness in high scattering and attenuation environments.
研究成果
ULS and LGV technologies effectively address the challenges of high scattering and attenuation in underwater scenarios, with ULS offering higher spatial resolution and LGV providing faster acquisition times and live video streaming. The study demonstrates the potential of these technologies for civil and naval applications, including mine hunting and seafloor monitoring, while also pointing out their limitations and areas for future improvement.
研究不足
Optical applications are limited to very short ranges in extreme turbid water masses (c > 2 m?1 and b > 1 m?1). The study also highlights the need for future research to reduce shadow areas in LGV systems by adding point clouds from different viewpoints.
