研究目的
Investigating the development of compact sensors for multispecies gas sensing in the mid-infrared range using Pr3+-doped chalcogenides waveguides.
研究成果
The work presents the MWIR broadband emission from integrated selenides waveguides and simulation results on MMI-based demultiplexer designed for multispecies gas sensing in the 4-5.5 μm wavelength range. This spectral range overlaps an Earth’s atmosphere transmission window and strong characteristic vibrational transitions displayed by stretching vibration modes of O-H, N-H, C-H, C≡(C, N) and C=O chemical bonds and chemical molecules such as hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide.
研究不足
The development of compact sensors enabling traces molecules detection is urged to extend their operational range to on-site measurements. On-chip integration of MWIR broadband light sources still remains a challenge.
