研究目的
Investigating the development of tunable diode laser sources with precise control of emission wavelength, narrow spectral linewidth, high output power, and good beam quality for applications in absorption spectroscopy, biomedical imaging, and optical telecommunication systems.
研究成果
The study presents two concepts of tunable MO lasers: Y-branch DBR laser and SG tunable laser, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. Both light sources emit tunable single mode around a wavelength of 976 nm. The Y-branch approach has a simple tuning mechanism, while the SG laser provides wide tuning. The design approach of the MOPA systems as well as other laser parameters such as beam quality, stability and manufacturing process are described and compared.
研究不足
The Y-branch approach has a simple tuning mechanism with mode-jumps of the order of 50 pm. The total tuning is limited by the number of branches implemented. The SG laser requires a more sophisticated tuning mechanism but provides wide tuning which is ultimately limited by the available gain.
