To develop a mathematical model for predicting the Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) in CO2 laser cutting of AISI 304 Stainless Steel sheets using Response Surface Methodology (RSM).

The quadratic model developed using Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was found to have the smallest deviation from experimental data compared to linear and 2FI models. This model can effectively predict the Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) in CO2 laser cutting of AISI 304 Stainless Steel sheets, reducing experimental cost and time while improving cutting quality.

The study is limited to AISI 304 Stainless Steel sheets of 2.5 mm thickness and specific ranges of input parameters (Laser Power, Cutting Speed, Gas Pressure). The models developed may not be applicable to other materials or thicknesses without further validation.
