1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
A solvent-free gram-scale mechanochemical method was developed for the preparation of N-GQDs. Commercial graphite was ground with solid melamine and then with solid KOH to produce sub-5-nm-sized, 1-3-layered N-GQDs.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Commercial graphite was used as the starting material. The resulting N-GQDs were characterized using TEM, HRTEM, AFM, XPS, Raman spectroscopy, FT-IR, PXRD, UV-Vis, and PL spectroscopy.

QM-3SP04 and QM-3SP2 planetary ball mills, stainless steel grinding jars, stainless steel balls, graphite, melamine, KOH.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Graphite and melamine were ground in a ball mill, followed by grinding with KOH. The product was dialyzed to remove impurities.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The photoluminescence properties were analyzed using fluorescence spectroscopy. The inhibition of bladder cancer cells was studied using cell counting kit-8 assay.
