To develop a rapid and sensitive 'turn off-on' fluorescent sensor for the detection of ochratoxin A (OTA) using ZnCdSe quantum dots and self-assembled zinc porphyrin.

The developed 'turn off-on' fluorescent sensor based on ZnCdSe QDs and self-assembled porphyrin shows excellent performance for OTA detection, including wide linear range, satisfactory recovery, optimal stability, high selectivity, and sensitivity. This approach may provide a new strategy for on-site monitoring of OTA and allow extension of the application of such optical methods to the analysis of different kinds of compounds in food samples.
