研究目的
Investigating the generation of high performance rectangular hollow waveguides for applications in E- and W-Band by stereolithography 3D plastic printing and subsequent copper electroplating.
研究成果
The proposed 3D-printed slotted rectangular waveguides exhibit performance similar to conventionally manufactured waveguides, with attenuation ranging from 8 to 10 dB/m. Despite large sidewall gaps, radiation leakage is minimal (-50 dB), making them feasible for practical applications. The approach enhances the design for manufacturing of 3D printed waveguide systems and broadens the applicability of electroplating processes.
研究不足
The study is limited by the deviations in cross section geometry between the specimens and the measurement equipment, leading to mismatches at the interface. Additionally, the metalization quality on the inner surfaces was only satisfactory with the largest sidewall gaps.
