Partial substitution of Cu by Ag with small content (x ≤ 0.02) increases slightly the FF and VOC and leads to higher solar cells efficiencies, however higher Ag content does not have a positive impact on the solar cells parameters.

The study is limited to low Ag contents (x ≤ 0.08) and does not explore the effects of higher Ag concentrations. The synthesis temperature and the readjustment of composition may introduce additional defects or non-radiative recombination centers.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The study involves the synthesis of (AgxCu1?x)2ZnSn(S,Se)4 monograins using the molten salt method, characterization of their composition and structural quality, and the fabrication and testing of solar cell devices.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Monograins were synthesized from elemental precursors and characterized using EDX and XRD. Solar cell devices were fabricated and tested under AM

Equipment includes a Zeiss MERLIN scanning electron microscope, Rigaku Ultima IV diffractometer, Hamamatsu C12132 near infrared compact fluorescence lifetime measurement system, and a Newport Oriel solar simulator system. Materials include elemental precursors of Cu, Ag, Zn, Sn, Se, and S.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Synthesis of monograins, removal of flux, heat treatment, CdS layer deposition, solar cell device fabrication, and characterization using various techniques.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Analysis of EDX and XRD data, fitting of TRPL decay curves, and evaluation of solar cell performance parameters.
