研究目的
The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of full face resurfacing using a combination of full spot and fractional erbium (Er:YAG) laser resurfacing.
研究成果
A combination of fractional and full spot ablative ErYAG laser is a safe and effective option for full face resurfacing.
研究不足
This is a retrospective study without a control group. Randomized controlled trials comparing the combination technique with either full-spot ablation or fractional resurfacing alone would be required to confirm the relative efficacy of each technique.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
A retrospective study of patients treated with a combination of fractional and full spot ablative ErYAG laser (SP Dynamis, Fotona, Slovenia) in our clinic. Inclusion criteria for treatment are patients of both sexes, over 18 years old, complaining of aged facial skin. Exclusion criteria are active or recent skin infections, history of photosensitivity disorder, use of photosensitizing drugs, pregnancy.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
109 patients, mostly females over 50 years old.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
SP Dynamis, Fotona, Slovenia; R11 handpiece, with 5 mm spot; FS01 handpiece; 23% lidocaine and 7% tetracaine topical; 30 cc of lidocaine 1% with epinephrine; 10 minutes of 605, 630, 660 & 855 nm combination LED (LightStim, USA) photobiomodulation; clindamycin gel (1%); moisturizing skin protectant ointment (Vaniply, Pharmaceutical Specialties, Inc, USA); sun protection and retinol
4:5% mixed with caffeine and vitamin C 20 % topical (Topix Pharmaceuticals Inc., USA). Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Two phase full-face protocol was used: full spot ablation using R11 handpiece, with 5 mm spot, 5 J/cm2, pulse durations of
5:6–0 ms and 12 Hz executed in three passes (horizontal, vertical and at 45°) and fractional ablation using FS01 handpiece, 132 J/cm2 at 250 μm microspots (coverage of 5%) and 6 ms pulse duration performed in three passes (horizontal, vertical and at 45°). Data Analysis Methods:
Patient satisfaction questionnaire and blinded evaluation of pre and post photographs were used for assessment of treatment efficacy.
