研究目的
To propose a simpler approach for transformer dissolved gas analysis (DGA) based on the normalized energy intensity (NEI), a quantity related directly to fault energy dissipated within the transformer, for evaluating apparent fault severity.
研究成果
The NEI DGA scoring method, based on hydrocarbon fault gas concentrations and enthalpies of formation, provides a numeric fault severity score that is directly related to the amount of fault energy expended in the oil. It is sensitive to each of the IEC transformer fault types and responds better to gradual increases in fault severity. The method simplifies the assessment of fault severity by requiring only two or three NEI limits.
研究不足
The study focuses on mineral-oil-filled power transformers and does not address other types of transformers or insulating materials. The proposed NEI method requires empirical derivation of limits to suit local requirements.
