研究目的
To investigate the effect of organic capping agent (thioglycerol; TG) on photocatalytic activity of ZnS-Ag2S nanocomposites.
研究成果
ZnS-Ag2S NCs synthesized in the absence of TG exhibit better photocatalytic activity compared to TG capped NCs. The study provides insights into the practical application of these composites in photocatalysis and related optical applications.
研究不足
The study focuses on the effect of TG on photocatalytic activity and does not explore other capping agents or synthesis methods. The exact value of RSAg complex formed is not investigated.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
ZnS-Ag2S NCs were synthesized using a simple chemical precipitation route with and without TG.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Samples were prepared with varying content of AgNO3 (Zn1?xAgxS; x = 0,
3:01, 02, 03 and 04) in the presence and absence of TG. List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Zinc acetate (Zn(CH3COO)2; Zn(ac)2), AgNO3, sodium sulphide nonahydrate (Na2S·9H2O), 1-thioglycerol, and crystal violet (C25N3H30Cl) were used.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Solutions of Zn(ac)2 and AgNO3 were prepared and mixed, followed by the addition of Na2S solution. The reaction was allowed to proceed for 3 h at 80 °C and overnight ageing was done. The resulting solution was centrifuged and dried.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Structural studies were done using XRD, morphological features by HRTEM, optical properties by UV–Vis and photoluminescence studies, and photocatalytic activity was measured by degradation of crystal violet.
