研究目的
Investigating the variation of charge dynamics upon the metal–insulator transition for perovskite SrIr1?xSnxO3 by employing optical spectroscopy.
研究成果
The Dirac semimetallic state of SrIrO3 is turned into an antiferromagnetic insulator by Sn-substitution, with significant changes in the charge dynamics on an energy scale of 1 eV. The spectral intensity of optical transition between Je? = 1=2-orbitals is significantly reduced with increasing Sn-composition, indicating a predominant renormalization of the effective bandwidth of the Je? = 1=2-orbital state.
研究不足
The study is limited to polycrystalline samples, which may not fully represent the properties of single crystals. The optical spectroscopy measurements are constrained by the photon energy range and the resolution of the instruments used.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
Optical spectroscopy was employed to investigate the charge dynamics. The optical conductivity spectra were measured at various temperatures and Sn-compositions.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Polycrystalline samples of SrIr1?xSnxO3 with x = 0, 0.1, 0.15, and 0.2 were prepared by solid-state reaction using a cubic-anvil-type high-pressure furnace.
3:1, 15, and 2 were prepared by solid-state reaction using a cubic-anvil-type high-pressure furnace.
List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
3. List of Experimental Equipment and Materials: Fourier transform spectrometer, grating-type monochromator equipped with a microscope, SQUID for magnetization measurements, synchrotron radiation at UV-SOR for reflectivity spectra.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The resistivity and specific heat were measured using the four-terminal method and relaxation method, respectively. Optical reflectivity spectra were measured in the photon energy region of 0.008–0.7 eV and 0.5–5 eV.
5:008–7 eV and 5–5 eV.
Data Analysis Methods:
