研究目的
To assess the reproducibility of quantitative morphometrical evaluation of the choriocapillaris imaged with swept-source optical coherence tomography angiography (SS-OCTA).
研究成果
SS-OCTA images of the choriocapillaris can be measured with high reproducibility by morphometrical evaluation using open-source software that applies the multiscale Hessian enhancement. Automated morphometric analysis can provide an objective evaluation of the choriocapillaris.
研究不足
The resolution of OCTA may be insufficient. Projection artifacts of the retinal vessels and the striation of the choriocapillaris were not studied. The correlation to histopathological models is needed to resolve these problems in further studies.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
Observational, cross-sectional case series using SS-OCTA for imaging the choriocapillaris.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Included 35 eyes of healthy individuals and 32 eyes of 32 patients.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
SS-OCTA (PlexElite9000, Carl Zeiss Medics), open-source software “AngioTool” and “Fiji” for image analysis.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Two images of the fovea were taken using SS-OCTA with 3×3 mm squares. Images were analyzed morphometrically using AngioTool with different parameter sets.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Intraclass correlation (ICC) was calculated for the morphometrical results. Regional variations within the fovea were evaluated using the optimal parameters.
