研究目的
To discuss the main challenges in atmospheric correction of remotely sensed data from inland waters and present a few atmospheric correction algorithms that have been developed and used for inland waters in spite of the challenges.
研究成果
The chapter concludes that no single algorithm performs consistently better than others in all inland waters. The development of an operational atmospheric correction algorithm that is widely applicable for a broad range of inland water conditions requires improvements in sensor technology, validation protocols, and algorithm development.
研究不足
The optical complexities of inland waters and the atmosphere above, in addition to spatial limitations and interferences from surrounding topography, make atmospheric correction for inland waters very challenging. The performance of an atmospheric correction algorithm depends on its ability to handle various atmospheric and environmental conditions and its sensitivity to the radiometric calibration of the data.
