研究目的
To discuss recent advances and challenges in infrared photodetectors fabricated by low-dimensional nanostructured materials and to summarize the state-of-the-art device architectures, major developments, and future trends in infrared photodetection.
研究成果
The review concludes that hybrid heterostructure combinations and the integration of traditional low-dimensional nanostructured materials with plasmonic nanostructures and plasmonic waveguides are crucial for the construction of photodetectors beyond the optical detection limit of a particular material. It anticipates a bright future for IRPDs based on nanostructured materials.
研究不足
The review highlights the challenges in achieving optimized performance in IRPDs, such as the paradoxical relation between optical gain and response time, and wavelength detection limit and operational temperature.
